Well hello there! Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. If you stumbled across it by accident or pure coincidence, then shoo! This space is reserved only for those who have been interested enough by the sheer novelty of my username that they felt compelled to click on its link. I kid, I kid! Now, lame jokes aside, my profile will generally be used as a bulletin, posting updates on how my stories are progressing. I've been interested in creative writing for quite some time. Maybe not as long, and probably the interest not as passionate, as some of the more talented and seasoned writers out there, but enough for me to have a general idea of what kind of plots, themes, writing style and characters I like. I'll be honest here - I don't have much experience with creative writing. Yes, I've read tons of books and online fiction, but I've never made a serious effort at putting pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) before. Part of it is due to a lack of confidence and another part, perhaps a fundamental one, is due to a combination of laziness and immaturity. I suspect that I don't have the insight and social experiences that other writers have to realistically depict how the world and its people operate. However, that's part of the reason why I've created a FictionPress account. I'd love to get feedback, preferably constructive ones, on my work. I like the opportunities that creative writing affords us. It challenges writers to not only put their imagination into words, but also expand their creative horizons, allowing them to explore different types of views they can have on the world and society in general. As of May 2009, I'm currently in progress of setting up a draft of my very first original fiction - and I use the term "original" very loosely, since it may end up having many influences from the works of other writers that I admire. I will progressively update my profile to display the status of my story and how it's moving along. Until then, I'll be using FictionPress mostly to check up on some original fiction and posting my two cents on them. |
