About the Author:
Unknown Sorrow began writing as a Freshman in high school after encouragement from her English teacher. Her inspiration is drawn from many sources; her works change with her mood. Ms. Sorrow is currently taking a break from school to plan her wedding.
I love doing that… So I’m going to keep it that way!
Age: 20, as of May 24th.
Favorite Reads: Harry Potter Series, Inheritance Series, Fruits Basket and other Manga. If you’d like to recommend any good reads that you’ve read, please do! I’m open to reading other works.
Favorite Writes: Poetry. I’m attempting to tackle a book, or two, right now, but I’m not a hundred percent sure of how I’m doing; haven’t gotten much feedback. My poems seem to be liked though; I shall keep writing.
As for everything else, it’s useless knowledge so I won’t waste valuable writing/reading time to type it out--who really needs to know my favorite color?
One tip, though, that I will put up is music. I’m not sure if it helps for all writers, but I know it helps me to drown out the noise of life; or to help me focus on one certain aspect of life. For most of what I write, you can thank Skillet and The Goo Goo Dolls--they keep me going during the day.
So you are warned, if your writing sucks (in my honest educated opinion) I will tell you so, and I will also give you tips to improve your writing/future writing. If I like your writing, but it has mistakes which take away from the finished product, I will tell you, and again, I will tell you aspects which need to be worked on. Finally, if I like your writing just the way it is, I will tell you so, and I will tell you what you're doing right.
It's my belief that if you can't take criticism of this type then you shouldn't be posting your work. The point of posting your work on FictionPress should either be to showcase your best, or learn to improve your worst.
From Before (June 2011): Posted another poem. Enjoy! I might come up with some more this summer considering I'm in the most inspiring place ever (childhood home).
Current (December 2011): Posted two new poems. A friend wrote something and I made myself write something again. I need to get back into it--I'm sad that I haven't come up with anything recently. Maybe I'll spend sometime working on expanding my works since I'm currently between jobs.
