255 chars fail to describe. Read the story to explore the postapoctalyptic world it's set in and understand its characters. Enjoy the plot, and be amazed with my patent pending method of summarization. As long as people say they like it, I write more.

They are the best crew, and they have the best ship. Trouble is their mission's impossible. Their actions not only Humanity's only hope, but they are the fulcrum for an unknown realm they've never heard of. A hopeless journey, and a hopeless dream...

We are all truly insane, most of us just don't realize it.

The need for conversation is paramount amongst all humans, and our protagonist poet is no exception. You may find his partner in discourse rather lacking, however.
