"Writing is easy. You just open a vein and bleed." - Red Smith

Ladies and gents,

My stories are pieces of myself on sleepless midnights and quiet weekdays. Each chapter is a bundle of creative labor, drenched in the blood and tears of my inner self.

I praise God for blessing me with the talent, passion, and drive to write. I'm a quixotic eighteen-year-old girl whose dreams of becoming a New York novelist are constantly questioned by disbelieving others. Is my dream practical? Of course not. But it's not yours to judge. Let me ponder plot lines and character quirks from my apartment window, the sparkling skyline beckoning to me from its stance beneath the fading stars. I'll make it one day, but I can't do it without my wonderful readers. Thank you.

Besides writing, I'm a lover of
Graphic design, blogging (see homepage), Italian boys, sashaying in four-inch heels, browsing book stores, laughter, daydreams, and John Mayer.

Completed Stories
The Honor Society Cinderella- A modern fairytale of an overworked teenager trapped in the presence of crude stepsisters and a materialistic mother. August dreams of Steinway pianos, but will her parents ever halt shoving ACT prep books down her throat?

A Novel Romance - With a long, horrible train of exes and experiences with men that she would rather have erased from her mind, Laurelle Griffin believes there's no hope for romance in her life. Which is ironic, seeing as she's a romance novelist getting her English major at NYU. While writing her perfect guy into a brand new novel one day, Laurelle discovers that everything that she writes about her man comes to life. But as she has been crushed so many times before, Laurelle wonders if there's a dangerous catch to this strange series. Laurelle knows that love isn't easy and is never a smooth ride, but is this the man who's finally worth it?

On the Rocks- Monroe Baker, a lonely teenager, voices her story above the cries of her dysfunctional country family. She endures the convenient and unsatisfying seclusion from her peers as she cares for J.D., her irresponsible older brother, Frankie, her helpless baby brother, and her exasperated mother. Monroe wishes for a break in the tedium of her life and finds it in Ian, an intelligent young man who becomes smitten with her unusual strength. As a series of unjust crises strike her family, Monroe must wade through the changes and reluctantly allows Ian to introduce her to Janelle, a rare and beautiful girl of noble birth. In his pursuit to show Monroe the world, she falls in love.

Current Project(s)
A Tilted Galaxy- A sequel to On the Rocks, complete with enhanced bizarreness. Would you expect anything else from the Bakers?
