Accept me as I am-I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not.
Perfect I cannot be.
I, like you...am human.
Prone to make mistakes.
Failure is not a character flaw,
Just a part of the human makeup.
I live, I laugh and I also learn.
My knowledge is incomplete.
I am searching all the time,
in waking hours as well as sleep.
I have a long road to travel,
as well as you do.
We learn our lessons on the way.
Wisdom we shall acrue.
Accept me as I am
Because I am ...me.
And You are you.
No one like me in the world.
That is my only guarantee.

I wasn't going to do this to begin with, but this profile seems too empty, so I'll write a bit about myself.

I'm seventeen, female (in case the nickname Lyra doesn't tell you that already) and live in Venezuela, though that might change soon.

I like randomness, crazyness, I'm a very direct person, I say what I think, and I have a high regard for honesty and I don't have a conventional personality, (though who does, really).

Needless to say, I love reading and writing. I like the Twillight series, Phillip Pulman books, Jane Austen, Herman Hesse, Edgar Allan Poe, T.S. Elliot, Shakespeare, and many more.

My favourite colour is purple and some of my favourite bands or singers are Queen, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, ACDC, James Blunt, Eva Cassidy, Norah Jones, The Police, Elton John, Apocalyptica, Oasis, Maroon 5...

Music is a very important part of my life. I play piano and violin, and would like to learn to play the guitar, drums and saxophone.

I love camping and walks in the countryside or the mountains. I like swimming and basketball.

And that's about all I can think of for now, if you want to know more about me or any of my stories or poems feel free to contact me on msn or through email at mariaismyname@hotmail.co.uk (there's a hint about my real name!)

Please review my work, I fully appreciate any comments, good or bad, and I will review you back. Thanks!
