SO. here's a non-essential summary of my life in the last 3 years. i graduated from high school and got another dog and she had puppies. now i have five dogs and they're adorable. then i went to college and missed my crazy family terribly but then i made almost-as-crazy (some even more so) brilliant wonderful friends and that made me feel better. and i just finished my freshman year at this same college where i'm studying human biology (because i like humans and i like bio) and college is funtimez. and life-draining. and excellent. oh and (much to my parents' chagrin) i'm not exactly sure where my major will lead me since i've never quite envisioned myself as a doctor even though my favorite prof keeps telling me i should be one, but come on mom and pops: HUMAN BIOLOGY. it's like my two favorite things (besides writing) and it sounds like such good fun. anyway i'm minoring in italian/creative writing. not sure which one yet, but definitely leaning towards writing although i love the italian department very very much. gawd i wish i didn't have to pick a major and could minor in everything, wouldn't that be sweet. on the writing front, well...i'm pretty much dying. it is actually quite pathetic. so this summer i'm gonna try to live again. my therapy is good books, good tea, good people, and my trusty laptop that i jumped on the bed and landed on and is thus nursing a broken frame. anyway what i mean to say is that this will hopefully turn out to be 2 months of solid writing timez. so i really really hope to see more of you people soon! what I've written . . . YAYAYAYAYAA! -mostly oneshots because I've come to accept the fact that I have approximately zero (point zero) patience and a virtually nonexistent attention span. and I don't have to plan out these oneshots - I can write whatever I want and there are like no consequences! of these short stories, pwned is the most popular because - I don't know, you guys are weird. I'm pretty sure it's because it's called "pwned." but I recommend the man on the side of the freeway because I wrote that one into a notebook first, or okay then because I like the characters' names - come to think of it, the characters are pretty cool, too. sweets was my first one and it's fluffy like whoa and to be a pansy is fun and the protagonist is a guy! and I know that there are three other ones but I don't remember what they are right now. bwahaha, joookesss...you know what's funnier than that joke? people who put oneshots on alert. you guys make me laugh every time, even though you're very weird. anyway, oneshots are cool because you can do lots of experimenting with style/characters/POV/tense/whatever and they're so short your readers barely have time to say, "what the heck was that?" and if they hate the story, at least you didn't monopolize too much of their time, right? but mostly I like oneshots because I like that I can put the status as complete without doing too much work. maybe I shouldn't be admitting this. -okay, I have two chaptered stories, too. and...I'm thinking about deleting them. LOOLL...? i'll try to salvage them, I suppose, but they're pretty pointless. especially the first one. unless you need to laugh. then I suggest skipping to the later chapters because the first ones are like "huh?" but then maybe you wouldn't get what's going on. I wouldn't really know. I've never tried reading from the middle. the second story is better and not as pointless - I mean, I even understand why my main character does some of the stuff she does. that's pretty good. -well, now you don't wanna read any of my stories. there's always the poetry collection (mine) but judging from the stats page, you won't want to read that either. maybe you should try this is how it feels to be real - it's actually kind of relevant and the title makes me feel like I'm mature or something. -if you give any of these pieces of writing a try and take the time to tell me what you think, then you are most likely very awesome. p.s. the "most likely" is just a disclaimer. I don't want you to go through life thinking you're very awesome because I told you that you were, and then end up finding out that you aren't. but I'm a pretty good judge of character so you are most likely very awesome if you read and review. about me . . . YAYAYAYAA! also, I love Jesus. and I adore jimmy needham. and I'm a huge laker fan. and I have seven brothers and three dogs. and I'm enchanted by the lost generation and the jazz age. I don't read enough books. I do, however, help the neighborhood kids dig up rolly-pollies in our front yard. uhm, I don't get why people describe themselves as "random" when trying to give an insight into their personality. I'm pretty sure everyone is "random." I'm pretty sure that's part of what makes us human dang it. LALALALLALALALA - oh, and when I was seven I put lots of soap in my hair because I thought that would straighten it (obviously, conditioner wasn't working). I run because I like the feeling of burning legs and lactic acid and (not enough) oxygen and amazingness. it's addictive and I don't think I can ever give it up. I like that bubble wrap stuff that comes with my mom's vases. and apparently I'm a cross between a maybe-tomboy and a real-live-girl and it sometimes confuses people. ha ha, suckers. I have a predilection toward equal signs in smiley faces, though colons have their own charm. I'm not sure when I made the switch, either. (= and my dad bought some jugs of this arizona pomegranate green tea. it's awesome. I love tea. okay, only the heavily-sweetened kind of the icy variety. like raspberry iced tea. why doesn't mcdonalds offer raspberry iced tea? keep up with the times dang it! I write sometimes. and I sleep sometimes. and sometimes I watch game shows on GSN for hours on end. I'm from california and I smell really good right about now. --but most of all, I'm not random dang it. p.s. oh shoot, I just re-read that and I think that maybe I sounded a little interesting. don't be misled. (sometimes when I write misled it looks like it should be pronounced MY-ZULD, but don't be misled, it's actually pronounced MISS-LED.) p.p.s. I just realized that of all the things I said, approximately three things were even vaguely relevant. my english teacher would say, "that is rather telling," but really it's not dang it. just full of bad ideas characters: noland bing & mack banner thing (made possible by photobucket and the wonderful Paint program! ooOohh, fancy.) you are excused characters: recommendation(s) of the whatever amount of time it takes for me to change it/them: crack coffee and soy bysugarspun.matrixes because it's real and thoughtful and sweet and like, FRESH, and bitter and poetic and in 3rd person (!!) yet way more personal than anything i've read in a while. AND it's just so well-paced and exciting and observant and it gives you this feeling like "omg FINALLY, i've been waiting for something different" and the characters are seriously likeable - nay, loveable - and it's so...WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING STILL READING THIS? jeez. i provided a link to the story and everything you dork. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12: 9-10) |
