Thanks to the encouragement of a good friend I started off on The Schoolboy, which became my first work of any significance or length. I've always loved reading with a passion, but it was my first attempt to create something of my own. I know I'm a bit young and inexperienced compared to others, so I would appreciate all the reviews and advice I can get. After my start with The Schoolboy seemed to go well, I decided to put up a few other things also.
The Schoolboy: The tale begins with an innocent boy in an idyllic setting, but gradually becomes darker as the story progresses. At the start, the boy lives with his mother, sisters, brother, and dog in the quiet English countryside. But although he has not seen his father in several years, it was his father's standing wish that he go to school when he got older. Life at school is quite different from anything he ever knew, and even proves dangerous when gangs from town interfere. Overall, sort of a growing up story.
The Knights of Nolford: Just a bit of silliness, really. I wanted to take a stab at writing a play, and needed something lighthearted and fantastical to work on when my spirits were down.
The Careless Angel: Also set in England, but approximately eight years earlier than The Schoolboy. It's about the only child of a well-to-do Irish family with an alcoholic, workaholic father. If you've read The Schoolboy, you might recognize the main characters.
Bear of War: An idea I had for a short story, deals with the loss of a parent and the reality of war, set in modern times.
