Author has written 5 stories for Fantasy, General, and Action. I've just graduated from university, and I am currently working as a research assistant. I'm trying hard to improve my writing style, and I constantly think that my stories suck, since I'm most critical when it comes to my own work; the only reason I posted them was to prevent myself from deleting my work again. So, now that I've declared I'm trying to improve, feel free to leave comments; I wouldn't mind if you criticize aspects of my work (unless you're being vulgar; that's when I'll feel annoyed). Otherwise, comments and opinions of any sort are welcomed! Here's a brief introduction to my stories: 1. Diary of a Villainous Genius: I thought that it would be interesting to write a story from the point of view of a genius who isn't interested in using her intelligence to help others. I try to paint a picture of a nasty character with human-like qualities and flaws, but I don't think I'm doing a very god job with the latter. The number of chapters in this story might look daunting, but trust me, each chapter actually correspond to a single entry, and hence, is actually very short. In case you're wondering when this story will end (yeah, I too think that this story is getting a little draggy), let's just say it will end around a year after the date on the first entry. 2. Soul Searching: My least favourite story among the others. It was something I cooked up for a script writing competition, and failing to win (it's not hard to see why), I modified it into a story. I liked the plot, but it's the style of writing that needs some working on. 3. When the Clouds Leave: This story is actually inspired by a weird dream that I had, in which, there was a red, furry, bird-like creature. This might be one of my shortest stories to date, and I have no intention of writing sequels to it. However, that might change, depending on whether I have the inspiration or not. I admit that I was getting a little impatient to finish this story, and hence, it seemed a little rushed at the end. Also, I realized that there were some unanswered questions, so I'm still pondering over whether I should edit the ending a little (which I'm reluctant to, because I've already marked it as 'complete'). 4. Spirits and Evils: Not a very imaginative title, I agree. However, this story is one of my personal favourites in terms of the storyline. This was actually the first of many parts of a long story, but I was disappointed with my style of writing. I've written this story some time ago, back when my English wasn't so descriptive. Editing can only do so much, so I don't think this story is that good after all. That's all for the moment. I'm currently working to finish 'Diary of a Villainous Genius' before university semester starts again. As soon as I'm done, I might consider working on 'Soul Searching' and a 'sequel' of 'Diary..'. |
