Fictionpress is an outlet from my real tragically boring and uninspiring life. I've never been a particularly brilliant wordsmith, but I consider myself better than the average Jane. As a closet romantic I hold fanciful ambitions of getting published and earning somewhat of a living as an author, so I mainly write now to develop my craft and not lose my ambition or muse. Secretly, I’ve always wanted to be a creative person, but my musical ability, drama/speaking skills ect. leave a lot to be desired so this is my most viable outlet.

I'm a prolific reader who has spent to many un-published years on this site wading through atrociously written and poorly edited crap to dig out some real gems and other well written, albeit, indulgent (or clichés - whatever you want to call them) pieces which reside on my favourites list. Be warned however, I many not enjoy some as much as I enjoyed them when I was younger so they may not be exclusively the best work you've seen. Also many of these authors have been plagiarised (we all know its happening and has happened) so many have been removed.

My Stories:

I have one short story up currently (Frank Handely) which I enjoyed writing. I have a few more short stories that I'm almost ready to publish up here and then I few novel ideas that have been slowly progressing. Would it be too cheesy to say 'watch this space'? =D
