Author has written 2 stories for Sci-Fi, and Action. About Me: Hey all, I'm Kizuna. I generally like long stories; action, sci-fi, supernatural, even a good romance book. I've always believed good stories lead to good writing. Not by plagarism, but by grasping of certain techniques. My quest for good reads is never ending! It feels like for every good story you read, there are less out there. Thanks to fictionpress, I can consistently seek out the gems. I apologize for not writing, as you can see, I'm just plain lazy. I haven't updated in a hell of a long time because I'm...just darn lazy and I tend procrastinate alot. No excuses is my policy. Recently after reading alot of good stories, I've come to realize, what if people actually like my stories, but are disappointed as I often am when the writer appears to no longer visit the site. (Probably not the case, as the only reviews come from friends so far.) But I plan to update alot more often, and hope that those people that are generating hits on my stories every few months go on to review. About My Stories: The story I was working on at first is called Planet's New Dawn, its about two kids, Takeshi and Mira who live on Mars. Life is as normal, as boring as everyday life can be, until people start disappearing. When they try to find out what's going on, they get caught up in a vortex of unexpected events. Planet's New Dawn has been put on hold. But I'm sure one look at the last update can tell you that. Even though I have about 20 finished chapters at home, I want to do alot more and I'm not sure I know where I want to go with the story. I'll consider rewriting it soon. I'll probably take it off Fictionpress and upload it again when its ready. Currently, I'm working on a story called Fever Pitch(and at a rather dilatory pace at that). Its kind of hard to describe what its about. The thing I'd like to point out the most, is don't take all the terminology literally. I suppose its kind of misleading, but with a lack of information, you have no way to accurately describe things. Secondly, I'm trying to incorporate certain aspects of mythology into it.(Cookies for you if you can guess which mythology) It started off as more of an experiment to see how I liked writing this kind of story. I kind of just started spitting out ideas and before I knew it I had something that vaguely resembled a plot. I love where the story will be heading and I hope you do too. Its a story I really want to succeed and I put my all into it. As I neglect reading, my writing skills dwindle as well, but I'm trying my best to get back into it. I have up to Chapter 5 finished, and after a bit of editing I'll release them. In the meantime, enjoy Chapter 3, the first one posted in a hell of alot of months. Fever Pitch Chapter - Chapter 4: Playing Fetch Samui and Kiyoi are on their first mission in months, how will it turn out? Read and find out! Planet's New Dawn - Chapter 2: Emotion- ON HOLD The military continues to take people, Mira being one of them. Takeshi ends up rescuing her and together they think of a plan to save Mira's family. What's Going On Now: Nov 7, 2009: Things are a bit tight moneywise, and I have a load of overdue papers to due. Good thing I finished them all today. Taking the time to finish them thoroughly has left me no time to work on Unguis, my NaNoWriMo story. Its also left me with little time to edit my next chapter of Fever Pitch. I'm thinking of putting Fever Pitch on a two maybe three week hiatus for the time being. Chapter 6 is pretty much done, so I'll release the finished version of it on the 15th and work on writing, editing and releasing Chapter 7 by the 30th. As for Unguis, I've decided on Alex Russel(retarded I know) for the name of the my male lead, and still struggling for Loriel's last name. Do werewolves even have last names? Do they just adopt the name of their pack as their last name? I suppose these are things I can decided upon myself as I'm the one creating the mythos, but how much can be viewed as a writer's laziness? Oct 30, 2009: Came up with an idea for my NaNoWriMo story! I scrapped it. Turns out, it made much less sense on paper than it did in my head. Instead, I've decided to work on a werewolf story I was planning on working on last year/early this year. Now I can practically see you guys rolling your eyes, but I put a lot of thought into it. The main character, Loriel, has had a major overhaul from her original design(don't know what I was thinking before) and I'm considering options on how to make it all more believable. While researching and going over my ideas for where I want this story to go, I ran into a lot of other stories that have similar themes/ideas to mine. Immediately, I felt pressured to change things to make it different, but if I do that will the story no longer be true to its roots? At the same time I don't want to be accused of being unoriginal. Should I even be worried about this? Ah well, I'll continue with it anyway, there's always room for revision. Oct 26, 2009: Well, after seeing a few friends as well as favorite authors keeping a pseudo-blog on their profile, I've decided to keep one on mine too. This way, I can try to avoid procrastinating. Anyway, uhhh, another decision influenced by friends and fellow authors: I've decided to participate in NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. Its less of a contest and more of a self challenge really; the goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel in a month starting on November 1st and ending on the 30th. To be frank, I have no clue what I'll do, and its a bit disheartening to know that this novel will get more attention than Fever Pitch will. But I'll have plenty of time to work on Fever Pitch afterwards. I've also decided to remove Planet's New Dawn until I can find a way to edit and rewrite it. I've written up to chapter 25, and alot of friends say they like it so look forward to it coming back sometime next year. |
