Also, I want to help people who are looking for good stories (romances) by consolidating them in my list of Favorites. I'm picky so a story has to have that extra something. Check out my favorite stories/authors for some good reads! I also just created a community for good romances on FP. Feel free to send me your recommendations as well~!

Things I look for in a good romance:

- Well-written

- Free of corny, flowery language. And awkwardly worded sentences. Major pet peeve.

- No grammatical/punctuation errors (huge pet peeve)

- Cliches that are handled in a fresh, engaging way (Fluff works in some cases, like one-shots)

- Humor: I particularly like sarcasm and cynicism

- Hot, steamy sex scene(s) - always a plus :) And good build-up of sexual tension...CHEMISTRY, CHEMISTRY, CHEMISTRY is key. Did I mention chemistry?

- The characters need to be relatable in some way, imperfect.

- One thing I don't like is when chapters are extremely short (unless it really fits the story).

- I hate it when authors put extremely long, detailed descriptions about how good-looking a character is. I especially hate it when the story is in first person and the main character does that. "Like, I'm so good-looking with my perfect size 2 body and long, shiny blond hair..." Blech.
