Author has written 1 story for Essay.

"A writer isn't just someone who puts random words in random order on a piece of paper or computer file. It's much more than that. A writer is like a painter. The paper is his palette, the words his pigments, and the world that he creates his masterpiece. Writing is art." Myself.

What is a story? That question has been asked more times than anyone would care to remember. I can only think of one answer to that question. A story is a portal, a portal to the world that a writer creates. To read a writer's words is to enter this portal, to take a journey through the world that they create. That is what a story is to me.

My name is torch621. That's not my real name, of course, but I don't usually give that away. I've been writing for only a short time, about a year. I've mostly been writing fanfictions on other websites, and contributing to the occasional blog and forum. I joined this site out of a desire to give a greater contribution, that of stories crafted from my own mind, with my own characters, plots, and worlds. My own little portals, one might say.

I have no set genre. I write whatever comes into my mind, and pour all of my heart into it, for a story is nothing without heart. That being said, you will see many stories from many genres from me, each of them written with all of the care and effort one would expect from any author.

My stories do not seek to educate people, or to address some social ill or problem, or to attempt to seek some greater truth in the world. My stories are written for one purpose only, to bring the reader into my world. When a reader can envision themselves in my world, to see what my characters are seeing, feel what they are feeling, and walk through the journey with them, then I have accomplished my purpose as a writer.

I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
