The story of a young girl forced to marry to bring fortune back to her family. While suffering through a loveless marriage and the contempt of the high society around her she begins to find how different reality is from the world she once lived in.

The people of Serina live in fear and poverty under the rule of the ruthless The High Council. A force of beings that feed off energy ravage the city, hiding in human hosts and infiltrating the government. Their only hope lies in hidden beneath the earth.

This is a poem I wrote from the view of one of my characters, Mildred. In my story The Children of Ra she authors a journal that will be added with the main text as footnotes.
