Author has written 2 stories for Romance.

I freely admit to being a niche and genre-crossing reader...and that extends heartily to my writing.

"Impossible" romances are a fascination of mine—both in stories I read and stories I write. I love Fantasy and world-building, but to me, that goes hand-in-hand with complex relationships. Reading about male fantasy characters of a dual nature is my favorite. I think their internal struggle is the most important of all.

I read Romances for the guy, and I stick around to see how awesome he becomes. So if he's shallow, flat, or otherwise one-dimensional, I can't handle it. Also, diamond-in-the-rough heroes or antiheroes shouldn't read like a soap commercial. So if my bishounen's POV ever reads like that, and he's not a player, slap me. Please.

My main goal is to put you in the character's head, to help you understand them, the way they think, and why they do the things they do. I think this is especially important for fantasy or beast characters. You don't have to agree with them, and in some sections I hope you don't. But some things must be as they are, for characters to become what they can be.

A pet peeve of mine is when authors shy away from the gory or sensual details that I, as a reader, have been waiting for throughout the whole book or series. Expect no "blackout scenes" here. The wait may be long, but when I deliver, your eyeballs will glue to this screen. Despite that intention, I aim that every non-blackout scene will have a PURPOSE. You will learn something about the characters, and/or they will learn and develop...hopefully both. If you can call it porn or horror only, I've failed.

That being said, reading and writing are very liberating experiences for me. I find I can read and write about things I may never experience or condone in person. Maybe that sounds like a conflict of interest to you. To me, it's a an opportunity to learn and grow without feeling like I'm in a petri dish.

Once I get addicted to a story, my reading goes into hyperspeed, so I tend to read long stories that are already completed and finish them in one or two sittings. I write long stories as well, and I'm prone to writing series. If you as a reader go through all the trouble to finally find a good story, and to invest time in it and heart and soul into the characters, I think it should last you a long time.

Besides being an adult (with life responsibilities) and a full-time college student, I am also a newly-appointed newspaper copyeditor at my university, and just started working as an independent contractor editing and formatting for a company, so I really have to fight for my novel-writing time. However, I am serious about my writing, and about finishing my current series, and I would LOVE to connect with my writing contemporaries! So if you're a Fantasy-Romance (especially High Fantasy) writer, and/or you feel our writings have similar strains, feel free to drop me a line! Contact options are listed at the bottom of the page. Or you can PM me here. :) I am also a member of RWA, and their Fantasy, Futuristic, & Paranormal Chapter.

I HAVE changed entire chapters based on reviewer suggestions. YOUR OPINION MATTERS! Please review to help me better both the story and my own writing.

I hope you enjoy my stories!

The Original Idea Behind the BeastKing Chronicles

I wanted to read an angsty fantasy story with graphic romance as both the problem and the solution.
I wanted to see two strong main characters fight against themselves, each other, and the world to become one.
I wanted to see the woman use her "lower" position in society to become valuable.
I wanted to see the strong man have an identity crisis.
I wanted to see a beautiful beast who remained beastly.
I wanted to see up become down and down become sideways.
I wanted to take the "known" and turn it into Wonderland.

If I saw one more superwoman or girly-girl or sissy-boy, I thought I would scream...or puke.
If I read one more "let's get pregnant and have a family," I was going to throw something.
I don't want to read about a kid; I want to read about the love bunnies. Everybody else can go take a hike.

And why do I have to wait until next chapter for a P.O.V. change?! What if I want to know what they think now, when it's most important and fresh in my mind?

And so Beauty and the Beast was born.
A series, but really all one story.
A story whose romance doesn't end in a family and a happily-ever-after in a single volume to trade for another minor-character couple.
A story that could continue on and on for an eternity, because it follows an immortal.
A story that's full of trials, just like life—but with an extraordinary twist you could never actually experience.
A story full of characters who would be phenomenal or terrible to meet in person—the kind that could make you lust or scream, murder or sex them up.

Don't you want to read that kind of story?

What kind of story do you want to read? And why aren't you writing it?

(formerly known as To Belong to a Beast or Beauty and the Beast)

CHAPTER 26: "WITH YOU IN SPIRIT" IS POSTED! (9/10/17) As the dreams between Rome and Bre evolve, Mistress Healer starts to get suspicious, and even Rome starts to wonder if there is more to it than just a dream connection. But does anybody really know the ramifications of calling a person by their True Name? Meanwhile, the revelation of Rome's Power abilities may be enough to tip Robearta over the edge.

Heads Up: Due to crazy scheduling and pursuit of academia, my story update times may be helter-skelter at best.

NEXT CHAPTER: Chapter 27 - The Exchange: Rome is finally going to get the audience he wanted with the temple leaders, but are they really going to let him bargain for Bre's life?
