![]() This has been an amazing community to me, and I don't want to lose you all. If you are willing to become a beta reader for me as I draft and revise stories for publication, I would be overjoyed. As a beta reader, you would be able to read the story and/or its continuations before others can see it. I want people who will tell me where I'm going wrong and what they want to see next. The more versions of the story you've seen, the better. If interested, please message me on this site or on the author page of my site seriahblack [dot] com, or you can email me at author [at] seriahblack [dot] com. I am using a different platform for beta-ing that allows you to comment on bits of text. If you're a fellow writer, you can also find me in some writing or romantasy orgs listed on my site. Connections are welcomed! I also do collaborations. MORE STORIES ARE BEING WRITTEN! Shifters and aerialists, oh my. Most of these are shorter and will hopefully appear in fiction magazines or anthologies. My site will stay up to date on these at seriahblack [dot] com/releases. You can also follow me on BlueSky (seriahblacksheep) for updates. I exist on IG, though not as exciting (seriahblacksheep). Bio & Author Promise: Impossible romances are a fascination of mine—both in stories I read and stories I write. I love fantasy and worldbuilding, but to me, that goes hand-in-hand with complex relationships. Reading about male fantasy characters of a dual nature is my favorite. I think their internal struggle is the most important of all. I read romances for the guy, and I stick around to see how awesome he becomes. So if he's shallow, flat, or otherwise one-dimensional, I can't handle it. Also, diamond-in-the-rough heroes or antiheroes shouldn't read like a soap commercial. So if my bishounen's POV ever reads like that and he's not a player, slap me. Please. I have a no-blackout-scene policy. I won't be pulling any punches. It may take a while, but I will pay out what I promised. I am homing my stories! Several are coming out this year in anthologies. Others will hopefully be published in online magazines, or by small presses or publishers. I'm looking for high fantasy and romantasy beta readers or critique partners for my short stories, not just for my series. Romantasy or fantasy-with-romance lovers must be okay with a high heat level regardless of the story. If a story is not marked as having "heat," FYI, it is probably platonic (not romantic), but always still in a fantasy world. Series / Worlds (ongoing): The BeastKing Chronicles (heat) - books 1-2, novella 2.5, book 3, short story 3.5 (RELEASED, "Man of Many Smiles"), short story 3.6, future books Other Stories: Quench to the Hilt (heat) - RELEASED |
