Author has written 2 stories for Romance.
I freely admit to being a niche and genre-crossing reader...and that extends heartily to my writing.
"Impossible" romances are a fascination of mine—both in stories I read and stories I write. I love Fantasy and world-building, but to me, that goes hand-in-hand with complex relationships. Reading about male fantasy characters of a dual nature is my favorite. I think their internal struggle is the most important of all.
I read Romances for the guy, and I stick around to see how awesome he becomes. So if he's shallow, flat, or otherwise one-dimensional, I can't handle it. Also, diamond-in-the-rough heroes or antiheroes shouldn't read like a soap commercial. So if my bishounen's POV ever reads like that, and he's not a player, slap me. Please.
My main goal is to put you in the character's head, to help you understand them, the way they think, and why they do the things they do. I think this is especially important for fantasy or beast characters. You don't have to agree with them, and in some sections I hope you don't. But some things must be as they are, for characters to become what they can be.
A pet peeve of mine is when authors shy away from the gory or sensual details that I, as a reader, have been waiting for throughout the whole book or series. Expect no "blackout scenes" here. The wait may be long, but when I deliver, your eyeballs will glue to this screen. Despite that intention, I aim that every non-blackout scene will have a PURPOSE. You will learn something about the characters, and/or they will learn and develop...hopefully both. If you can call it porn or horror only, I've failed.
That being said, reading and writing are very liberating experiences for me. I find I can read and write about things I may never experience or condone in person. Maybe that sounds like a conflict of interest to you. To me, it's a an opportunity to learn and grow without feeling like I'm in a petri dish.
Once I get addicted to a story, my reading goes into hyperspeed, so I tend to read long stories that are already completed and finish them in one or two sittings. I write long stories as well, and I'm prone to writing series. If you as a reader go through all the trouble to finally find a good story, and to invest time in it and heart and soul into the characters, I think it should last you a long time.
Besides being an adult (with life responsibilities) and a beyond-full-time college student, I also work, so I really have to fight for my novel-writing time. However, I am serious about my writing, and about finishing my current series, and I would LOVE to connect with my writing contemporaries! So if you're a Fantasy-Romance (especially High Fantasy) writer, and/or you feel our writings have similar strains, feel free to drop me a line! Contact options are listed at the bottom of the page. I HAVE changed entire chapters based on reviewer suggestions. YOUR OPINION MATTERS! Please review to help me better both the story and my own writing.

The Original Idea Behind the BeastKing Chronicles
I wanted to read an angsty fantasy story with graphic romance as both the problem and the solution.
If I saw one more superwoman or girly-girl or sissy-boy, I thought I would scream...or puke.
And why do I have to wait until next chapter for a P.O.V. change?! What if I want to know what they think now, when it's most important and fresh in my mind?
And so Beauty and the Beast was born.
Don't you want to read that kind of story?
What kind of story do you want to read? And why aren't you writing it?
BOOK 1: Inhuman - Pending New Revision

new Ch1: "Farther Than I Thought" posted. (5/10/14)
Heads Up: Due to crazy scheduling and pursuit of academia, my story updates have been helter-skelter at best. I hope this will change by Fall 2021.
Update (9/6/19): Thank you for your recent reviews! I have continued to read them, and tried to respond individually. I picked this story back up for a workshop project, and had hoped to pick up where I left off, but the workshop demanded that I start at the beginning. So, I ended up doing a complete rewrite of chapter 1 (volume 1). I am not posting the revision for now, because of the impact it may have on chronology and number of chapters. In the meantime, as of today, I just added more to the end of chapter 14 (volume 2) in light of Rome's nightmare in chapter 22, and this is posted for your viewing leisure. I had been thinking for quite awhile now that there was not enough insight there into why Rome reacts the way he does, and what he is emotionally experiencing when deciding whether or not to take up Alonza's whip. Well, now there is. :)
Update (4/14/21): My website lives! I think I am caught up on PM responses to reviews now, too. I am starting to update my Twitter, so might want to check it out.
