"Equality is not a concept. It is not something we should be striving for. It is a necessity. Equality is like gravity."
-Joss Whedon

Here we go! Some information about me:

Name: Carly

Gender: Female

Musician/Artist/Band: At the moment, Ani DiFranco. I'll add more later.

Movies: Batman Begins, Pleasantville, Plan 9 From Outer Space (XD), Speak, Mean Girls (Tina Fay FTW!), The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King, anything Pixar, Star Wars (all are enjoyable, but the original trilogy pwns), various Star Trek films.

Randomness:
I am a Feminist and a vegetarian (sadly, I eat fish for health reasons).
I LOVE philosophy. Western, Eastern, Classical, etc.
My favorite Element is Water.
I love comics with all my heart.
I have a love for science. To me, it is important to keep your mind open to all possibilities in science:
How can we possibly be the only beings in the universe?
How can we be so sure there was never an Atlantis?
Who's to say there can't be a human-like primate such as Bigfoot?
Who's to say we can't fly?
If the Lochness Monster doesn't exist, then what is that creature in the lake that people have seen for centuries and are still reporting?
What about dragons?
We don't know everything there is to know yet. Never rule anything out completely.

My poetry is not very traditional. I prefer free verse poems. Little structure, less rhyming. My prose tends to follow a "stream of consciousness" style. If you don't know what that is, look it up or read "Speak".

I really appreciate reviews!

Another poem about my assault. I wrote this for class last year, so the format is much different. "Horror" might not be the best way to describe it, but I'll go with that for now. Please let me know what you think!

The Monster Is Everywhere
This poem is about the same thing as This Rage. Implied sexual abuse, molestation, anxiety and intense fear. Could trigger if you are a survivor. Not quite sure if this would fall under Horror...

This Rage reviews
I wrote this after being molested last winter. It was my first poem in a long time I wrote it back in March, I believe. If you read it, I'd really love a review. Could be triggering to other survivors.
