![]() Author has written 13 stories for Romance, Life, General, General, Action, and Fantasy. Hello sirs and ladies. My name is Jane and I welcome you to my page, and I hope you like the stuff I write. I am a student at the University of California, Riverside, and I want to be a writer, publisher, editor, screenwriter, and basically do everything that deals with writing (except a journalism. No thanks, don't want that job, but good luck to those that want to become one!). I like to read and I appreciate book suggestions. Also I really appreciate criticism as it helps me grow as a writer, so feel free to tell me what I need help on. A beta would be lovely right now to be truthful, because then I'll probably write a teensy bit faster (it's been a little slow lately because of class/work). Therefore if you're interested please shoot me a PM or suggest the beta you currently have! I often comment back when you leave a review so if you don't want me to, feel free to state that in your review. Thank you, and I really hope you enjoy what I write or will at least tell me if you don't. A couple books I enjoy: First off, I love the Harry Potter series. J.K. Rowling is not my favorite author though, because, even though her plots and imagination is wonderful, her writing style isn't my favorite (not that it's not good, of course). Some other fantasy books I enjoy are The Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras, His Dark Material series and Mary Stewart's Merlin books. Among the classics I enjoy Jane Eyre, Little Women, Angela's Ashes, To Kill A Mockingbird, Grapes of Wrath, Sherlock Holmes books, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Alice in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass. Being an English major, I have to have a few favorite Shakespearean plays and those would be King Lear and Midsummer Night's Dream. One of my greatest loves though, is sci-fi and some of my favorites are Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, War of the Worlds, the Veldt and I, Robot. Music I like (in no particular order): Mumford and Sons, Jukebox the Ghost, Jack Johnson, Cake, The Civil Wars, Coeur de Pirate, The Decemberists, The Fratellis, The Shins, Johnny Cash, The Kooks, PigPen Theater Co., Two Door Cinema Club, Empire of the Sun, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Caravan Palace, Daft Punk, Foster the People, Gorillaz, I Fight Dragons, The Lumineers, Oingo Boingo, Old Crow Medicine Show, Passion Pit, Paul Simon, Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three, Ra Ra Riot, and The Tallest Man on Earth. 10 Random Things About Muah 1. I don't have a spleen (I have a blood disorder called, "hereditary spherocytosis" that led to it being removed. Don't worry, though. I won't die from it). 2. I hate Pepsi. Actually my dad says if you drink Pepsi he'll disown you from his family. (Diet Pepsi is okay though. Sorry, weird family.) 3. I hate science, and love math and english (Yes, an odd combination, I know.). 4. I've danced to 'Low' by Flo Rida with my friends in a parking lot in Mexico (you know, back in the early 2000s, when Flo Rida was cool) 5. I love, love, love Flaming hot cheetos. 6. I'm a Resident Advisor at UCR (my college). It's one hell of a job, that's for sure. 7. I'm related to the author of Sherlock Holmes. That is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for those of you who don't know. 8. I'm afraid of many things. Likely as a result of having never seen a scary movie before. Unless covering your eyes and ears whilst curled in a ball and "watching" Paranormal Activities 4 counts as "seeing a scary movie." Because then I have "technically" seen one. 9. I enjoy comic books (I'm a Marvel kinda gal), Doctor Who, Arrested Development, Adventure Time, anime/manga, thrift store shopping and tom foolery. 10. I'm a horrible liar. Though I am a good actress. When it comes to lying though, it's not my voice that betrays me, but my reddening face and eventually an awkward laugh/smile. Okay down to business: NOVELS THAT ARE COMPLETE: Currently none... *awkward crickets* NOVELS IN PROGRESS: 1. My Guardian Angel: Summary: Alexis Quinten is different compared to everyone else. Her eyes change color with her emotions, and she has powers that even she doesn't understand. Her Dad and brother died after a traumatic event that happened to her when she was little, and for some reason her mother has refused to look at her ever since. One day, after a particularly horrible fight with her apathetic mother, Alexis escapes to the forest behind her house, there she finds an injured dog that she takes care of and decides to keep. She finds the dog is super intelligent, almost humanly in a way, and she finds it strange that her best friend, Maylanie, freaks out whenever she sees him. Very quickly Alexis finds that things aren't always what they seem, and that her life is about to be turned upside down. Progress: It's updated to chapter 12 (Along with a prologue.). Excerpt: My eyes faded to a cloudy blue. "How can you just sit there and pretend nothing has happened...?" Angry I looked up at him to see him staring numbly back at me, his eyes not betraying his thoughts. "Do you know what it's like to have your whole world turned upside down in just one day?!" Frustrated I pounded my fists into the soft cushions of my bed and felt like crying. As I stared at the floor I felt a familiar hand on my chin as he raised my face up to be level with his. Staring intently at me, he slowly murmured, "Yes. I do know." 2. Followed Summary: Sarcastic, quiet, and an abrasive attitude, that's what Alexandra Willow is made of. Alexandra ('Alex') ends up meeting an extremely hyper active, 'loves life' boy, named Elliot, and she automatically wants to bash the brains out of the talkative bubby guy. In her junior year of high school, she soon starts to get stalked by one of the most popular boys in school, Jared. Not taking it seriously, she decides to get him off her back by "dating" someone. Unfortunately the only boy willing is, well, Elliot. Progress: Updated to chapter 2. Excerpt: "Well you see... I- I like, I mean I really really... No that sounded like something an elementary school kid would say. Alright I got this, I got this! I mean I promised Leah I would get this out correctly." He sighed nervously and I watched him pull a hand through his hair, showing how flustered he was. Amused I let him flounder on. "We've been d-dating for a while now... I mean fake dating... Not that it hasn't been good! I mean... has it been? Wait, what am I saying? Crap this is not going how I planned. Okay. Alexandra. Wait! No! You hate that name! Alex I mean to say Alex. Anyway, right, I really- No not that aga-" Finally I put my hand over his mouth to end his torture. He looked at me surprised and I smirked at him. "You talk too much." I muttered before moving my hand and replacing it with my lips. 3. Cursed Summary: Catherine Roses's world is one dominated by "mutes" (Molecular Units That Educate Society). Each mute has a color that represents your personality. Based on your color you're put into a district where everyone else has the same color, and thus personality, as yourself. The white mutes are the elites and are superior to all other colors. There's one problem with this world, though. Catherine's mute is black. Progress: Updated to chapter 4 (with a prologue). Excerpt: “What do the scars mean, Catherine?” Swallowing I looked down at his fingers and licked my lips. “I'm... still not sure. I just know that whenever I have one of these fits I wake up with blood on my hands and one more cut on my arm. It's like I'm counting, making sure I remember, but I don't know why.” I looked up into his eyes, my own a bit frantic. “Sometimes I'll just wake up somewhere, with no idea how I got there or what I'd been doing before… but a new cut will be on my arm.” NOVELS THAT WILL COMES TO LIFE (...eventually...) 1. L'interprete ("The Performer"): I'm really excited about this one! I want to get started on it right away, but I'm going to try and finish My Guardian Angel first. This basically takes place in 1800s France, when girls married young, and there was no marriage between different classes, or ethnicities for that matter. Summary: Jacqueline was the 18 year old daughter of the wealthiest man in France, Gustave Delafluer. She lived in a large mansion in Paris, and was at the perfect age to be married. All the men of Paris knew it too, as she had many suitors, but she knew it was just for her money. She was an intelligent, beautiful girl, but no one cared about her intellect, they just cared about her wealth, and her daddy's power. What Jacqueline wants is to be free from it all, to find someone that appreciates her, for not even her family can spare her that, except for her little brother Dominique, and on occasion, her mother Emilie. One day while roaming the common streets of Paris, having snuck away from the maids and the guards, she hears a beautiful sound. After looking for it, she finds a young man playing the violin, a street performer. Awed she approaches him and watches him play as his fingers march fluidly over the instrument. He looked upon her with merry eyes and started to play a livlier happy tune, and he grinned when she laughed and clapped her hands. She finds his name is Leon Vietare, an Italian violinist. She comes to visit him almost everyday and they forge a close friendship, which soon blossoms into love. Her prestigious father will have none of this forbidden love affair though, and does everything he can to split the two apart. Is there hope for the couple, or will this be another ill-begotten Romeo and Juliet tragedy? It's going to be a bittersweet book I believe, but I am working out all the kinks still. 2. A Grimm Tale Summary: Natas Adam Grimm ('Nat') is the nephew of the Grimm brothers. One day his whole family is brutally murdered by people who believe his uncles are 'witches' and are therefore evil and need to be destroyed. Natas is the only one who has lived because the devil appeared right before he was to die and promised him immortal life if he would sell his soul. Now Natas must do the chores of the devil and kill those the devil wants. Here's a story about 'satan's tortured dog.' This is the background story of 'the Grim Reaper' and how he's just a tortured soul who was lured into doing someone's dirty work. 3. The Unfinished Fairytale Summary: Alice Satu Faye's life has been a lie since she was eight. She thought she'd been saved by the somewhat cold hearted village that found her and her horse Belle, but really, that was all an illusion that was shattered the day she found the book. The book was blank at first, but a voice burst out telling her that she'd been living in an illusion for her own protection until she'd come to be 16 years of age. Now she must go on a quest to find the good items from fairy tales. When each item is found, the book will tell her which way to go in order for her to save her father, defeat the evil tyrant, and save the kingdom of Brena. A cute adventure story of a girl creating her own fairytale. 4. Jaded Summary: Jade de'more Bellatrice is a high ranking officer in a league of assasins. She's highly trained, cold hearted, intelligent, and dangerous. Caden is strong, has been taught to fight since he was little and hates having a woman be his partner. When Jade first started out as an assassin she was immediately made to make a horrible choice on her first mission. Her family was kidnapped to manipulate her and she was forced to choose: The mission, or her family? She chose the mission and has been haunted ever since despite her leveling up in the league. Caden oddly turns out to be the only one who can somewhat loosen the concrete wall she's expertly built around her heart. That is, until she's faced with the same situation once more. A spy story. There actually will be some humor in it that I'm excited about (you know battle of wits between her and Caden, hate wars, fun stuff). SERGEANT GENERAL WARNING!!: Random fact of the...whenever I feel like updating...: Around 90 percent of the 'walk' buttons that are supposed to control the traffic lights for pedestrians, don't work. Your world is a lie :P |
