Author has written 1 story for Sci-Fi.
Around nine years ago, just after I had jumped aboard the X-Men train when the movie had come out in 2000, I decided to write my own stories set in the same universe. After trying my hand at fanfiction, I decided that that medium was too constrictive - I didn't like the idea of not being able to create and control my own universe and put my own touch of originality in the themes and stories. After some tweaking of the worlds, I removed every reference from Marvel, although there is still a lot of inspiration from them, dystopian fiction in general, as well as some other writers, most of them who are publishing themselves on deviantArt and FictionPress.
I was 14 when I started. I'm 23 now. When I graduated from high school I thought I would be a professional writer. By the time I entered college I thought I'd be a teen services librarian. And now here I am, having moved from my home town of Oakland where I worked a brief stint as a substitute teacher from February to June, in Sacramento, California, trying to get a job as a moderate/severe special education teacher's aide. My career aspirations keep changing, but throughout the years, science-fiction and fantasy have continued to inspire me, and I have never been able to put down the stories I dreamed up as a freshman in high school. So, after years of tweaking, note-making, and, above all, daydreaming, I'm finally writing down all the stories and putting them on FictionPress and deviantArt.
I hope you enjoy the stories as much as I enjoyed dreaming them up and writing them down. As always, I love critiques - negative, positive, anything that will help me figure out what I'm doing right and what I need to work on.
