Author has written 12 stories for War, Love, and Life. Hey what's up? My name's Rebekah, I'm a home schooled Christian freshman. I like to write when I can. Life's been really hectic lately, so I don't have much time just to sit down and let my pen take control. I'm going to stop writing all of my worthless love poetry that he will never read. I'm going to write happy things -- happy love, happy days, faith, etc. Things that'll make people smile, not feel like crap. If I don't reply to a review, it just means I didn't have the time. I still love you, don't worry. Unless you're some creepy psychopath stalker who wants to rape me (see how I'm not mentioning where I live?). laughs Whatever. Anyway, I love food! Italian food is like...One of God's greatest gifts to the earth. I also love movies, especially Serenity, my all time favorite at the moment. I also love the show The Office (US version) and the band Switchfoot. Also a big fan of Jason Mraz also. Love him! And so..I can't really think of anything more to write. Oh, I also like theater a lot. But I sadly have to take a year off due to stuff happening at home. sad face Very depressing. And, you need to check out my best friend's profile on here. She's purplewings and she's in my favorites. She's got a really good poetic talent; a lot better than mine. And yeah...Until next time... HUG Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs December 28, 2002 - October 11, 2005 Kelsey Briggs, born in Oklahoma after her parents - Raye Dawn Smith and Lance Briggs - divorce, was abused by her stepfather Michael Porter. The first incident happened on January 17, 2005. She was abused more and more as the months followed, while her mother did nothing and her father was stationed in Iraq, waiting anxiously to come home. On October 11, 2005 - a few days before he father came home - she was kicked in the stomach by Michael Porter so hard that it killed her. Her father was hoping to come home for a happy reunion with his little soldier. Instead he had to bury her. Porter pleaded guilty and received 30 years in prison. Raye Dawn Smith received 27 years for enabling child abuse. Kelsey Briggs didn't have to die. They say her death had a purpose. I disagree. It had a result, yes, of people taking a stand against child abuse. But death never has a purpose. The only time a person's death had a purpose was when Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins. That was one time and one time only. No one is ever meant to die. Kelsey Briggs was not meant to die. She was meant to have a happy life. She was meant to become an amazing woman. She was meant to live past the age of three. She was meant to live. And yet she is still gone. She never got to live her life. She never got to see her Daddy one last time. She never got a chance. We can give children like her a chance. We can discover the signs of child abuse - they are so easy to see. We can take control of a situation. We can save a life.
