I'm from rural Wales and I enjoy reading and writing material of the romantic and historical persuasion. I tend to write more than I read on this site, even though I do browse frequently. I've completed six stories on the site: "The Prisoner of Pendleton" (A historical romance set in WW2, mostly in England). "The Howling Caves of Tresilian Bay" (A ghostly-themed, historical romance set in 16th century Wales). "The Man with the Spider Badge" (A story about a girl who finds a mysterious man hiding in a barn - aimed at both adults and children). "The Memoirs of Jacob Derrar" (A rags to riches story set during the early 19th century. A tale of romance, piracy and dancing: told by a man who has wandered the world, through no design of his own). "Grieg, Snowdon and Paper Aeroplanes" (Set on Jersey, one of the Channel Islands, it follows Lillian Allardyce; an educated woman who takes a post as a secretary at a prestigious boys' school in the fictional parish of St. Paul during the 1930s; only to see the island descend into chaos with the invasion of the German army in 1940). "Among the Ruins of Penwig Abbey" (A British nurse and a German Airman are brought together by war). I also have one story in progress: "La Dame Rouge" (A girl discovers a mysterious painting. Her investigation of it leads her to Morocco, where she uncovers a tragic romance). To all the readers of my stories so far: thank you so much for taking the time to read, and thanks too for all your insightful and intelligent reviews, which not only keep me going with the writing, but also give me ideas on how to improve future chapters. If you have any questions about my stories or my inspiration for the characters (often, I pick well-known people/characters and use them as my inspiration), then please feel free to send me a message. I try to answer as many messages as I can, and I greatly welcome them. I'm also on Twitter, which I always update as soon as I upload a chapter. (Username: VivFicWriter). Tweet me! (Not sure if that's the right term...) Keep reading! XX
