I NEED HELP!

I've been nominated to attend a LeadAmerica youth conference in 2010, and I'm very excited on the opportunities it has given me.

I choose to attend the Theatre Arts conference because I have a special interest in the arts (music, acting, writing, etc.). It will be ten days in New York City, and I will be with people from all over the nation who have the same interests as I have. I hope to learn leadership and responsibility, as well as skills in theater during my stay at this conference. I especially look forward to meeting new people and being exposed to a different taste of life. The town I live in is nothing compared to the bustling, cheerful, vibrant New York City. I am also eager to be more engaged in theater. Ten days of nothing but theater, to me, is amazing. I am an actress as well as a director. I can memorize an one-page monologue in less than ten minutes. I can sit in the front row and envision countless number of ways to improve the play.

I need money, however, because I have no money to afford such an experience. So I hope you will help me reach my goal of attending this Theatre Arts conference in 2010.

My Stories:

Becoming Robin Hood's Sweetheart-- this is my masterpiece, though I'll be the first to admit that it needs a lot of work. (I'm in the process of editing everything). Anyway, it's about this girl named Marian Fitzwater. She is born into a wealthy family, but then she meets the infamous outlaw Robin Hood, and everything goes KABOOM!! It's pretty good, I think, but it definitely needs some work.

Famous Couples-- some poems that I wrote last year on random famous couples (i.e. Guineve/Lancelot, Marc Antony/Cleopatra). I don't think they're very good. Poetry is definitely not my forte, but they're not horrible.

Walks Upon Water-- I'm a strong believer in Jesus Christ, and I know that sometimes, people might hesitate from learning more about Him because of the language that the Bible is in. So what I did was take one of the most popular, well-known stories from the New Testament (the story where Peter walks on water) and put in more story-form and in language that is actually used in this time period. I'm hoping to do more. If you like this one, please review and tell me what other Biblical stories I should do. (I'm considering the Tower of Babel from the Old Testament).

Triumphant Entry-- a lot like Walks Upon Water. It's another famous story (how Jesus got the colt and rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday). This one isn't as good.

Where are We Going?-- Most of the times, when we got into Jake’s truck, we didn’t even know where we were going. We’d all just get in, and Jake would drive us around town. Sometimes my friend Kayla Garcia and her boyfriend Matt would come too. But Tess and I, we were always there.
And we’d always ask Jake where we were going, though. Tess made a ritual out of it.

You Can't Spell Hope from Addiction-- Derek Cruz is addicted to smoking. His girlfriend Natalie's trying to get him to quit, and nothing works. I don't know how it's gonna end. I don't even know what's gonna happen after the part I just left off. But that's okay. I usually make things up as I go along anyway. What inspired this story: "Hero" by Mariah Carey and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I heard "Hero" on TV. And My Sister's Keeper is my summer reading book. xD.
