Author has written 9 stories for Supernatural, Fantasy, Romance, General, Essay, Sci-Fi, and Friendship. Good morrow. I'm Lordess (also known as Isadora Legata or Muted Solace). I'm 21 this summer and spend what free time I have (and I have less and less it seems) drawing, writing, rp-ing, playing piano or playing video games. I've got one year left of college and still have NO idea what I want to be when I grow up. Whatever it is, I hope to be happy doing so. Ramble: (June 18, 2005) 'hello? what the hell does lordess mean? i haven't even read your story yet, but its lord and lady, not lord and lordess. duh. srry to be mean and all but it just looks so dumb on your title, really... lordess? that's not even a word!' My reply? 'Duh'. I know lordess is not a word. Believe it or not, I have cracked open a dictionary or two in my life. When I was coming up for the concept of 'Lordess of the Vampires', yes, my original thought was 'Lady of the Vampires'. But that sounded REALLY sissy. I mean, here I have this character, a kick-ass vixen... with the title 'Lady'? It... just didn't work. Not only did it make her sound weaker, it kinda made her sound permiscuous too... Kept thinking 'Lady of the Night'. So then I thought of 'Mistress of the Vampires'. That made her sound like an even bigger slut. And besides, people make up words all the time by combining two previous established words, and THEY make sense. I mean, someone had the bright idea of mixing a spoon and a fork to get a spork... Whoever that was, was a GENIUS. huggles her spork I apologize if drawing attention to this review offends the reviewer. I do thank her for her critisism, I enjoy having people challenge my ideals. It allows me to think up better ones. ~Lordess Update on Self (as of September 30, 2005) I figured I'd keep that little review thing up, and my response, cause it STILL cracks me up! As for my current state, it isn't well. But that's what happens when you get 2 1/2 hours of sleep and get up to move furniture. My head won't stop spinning and I had the WORST dream about this giant cockroach... It jumped on me... I was scared! . shudders I've been really busy between school and work. It seems Friday is my only day off, and I'm usually being dragged to places by my friends who feel highly offended that I didn't pay much attention to them during the week (understandably... I take acedemics very seriously and tend to kinda push people away to get my work done). And on top of that, my house hold has been in sort of disarray with my brother getting his tonsils out (and coughing up blood three days after the surgery . not a fun day) and our carpets getting cleaned (reason for moving furniture). On the bright side, I have a new computer! I'll be setting it up this afternoon and hopefully get it working quickly! The downside to this was I had to take all my files off my old computer and put them onto disk (floppy disk, mind you, because my old computer doesn't have a cd-rom burner) and my computer decided to be a p.o.s (as usual) and wouldn't let me use my 1.33mb ones... so I had to use 733kb floppies... It was... VERY slow going. I had SO MUCH CRAP on there! And I couldn't part with a lot of it! Mostly my writing and then some of my artwork.. sigh But Lordess of the Vampires will be updated once my new computer gets hooked up, because the next chapter is ready to be posted! . Though I'm wondering if I should wait, because it's another cliffhanger... (I really need to stop those, but I can't help it! And besides, it keeps you all interested, albiet thinking of waysto kill me, but I can live with that...) OH! And I have another new story idea. This is my most gothic, depressing one yet. It has a vampire in it (I have a fetish, can you tell?) but the traditional kind. You know, only can go out at night, burns in the light of day... all that stuff. And it's about him and a human girl, who is a mediator of sorts between the world of the living and the undead. Sometimes she is described as temptation itself, like in the story of Adam and Eve... Not the snake, however, but the apple. An impartial part of some scheme to test the limitations of our souls. It's going to be VERY sad... halfway through the story, she (who mind you, is a really sweet girl) looses one of her fingers saving the vampire (there's more to this than I'm saying... if I told you everything it'd ruin it, but lets just say her passion was music and playing piano, and loosing one of her fingers was a BIG deal for her) and she goes blind and looses someone very dear to her and... it's just SAD. I'm debating whether or not to make it a story or a comic. I'd need to change my art style a bit to make it a comic, but I've always wanted to try and do the more gothic look. Anyway. I'd better leave you all to your thoughts! Ja! ~Lordess |
