JANUARY 16TH, 2009: Became a member of FictionPress!

Welcome to Alysia Of The Pen's profile! [I am also on fanfiction.net with the same name, so more info and work is over there.]

Name: It starts with an A, but it's a bit less cool than Alysia (pronounced Ah-lee-see-ah).

Born on Sept. 21st. Straight girl.

Other things: I love a lot of stuff: writing, reading, singing, piano, dancing, and foreign languages.

At the moment, I would describe myself as a private writer. I'm emotional and open with my family and close friends, but I am afraid of showing my family and friends my work because I am afraid they will not approve of what I write, on grounds of low quality or questionable moral content. I often plan out and begin stories, only to leave the unfinished for years on end, afraid to ruin them.

So I have decided that, to help myself become braver and a better writer, I will use this site. As previously stated, I do have an account on Fan already, but I encountered planning problems while writing my fan-fictions there, and have never completed (and probably will never complete) them, so I took them down and put up different work. However, I hope to use thrice as much of my brain to write some stories all the way through and post them.

Please post comprehensive and honest reviews: if you hurt my feelings with constructive criticism, I am the one in the wrong. Subjects and genres of what I write vary. I have a thing about titles that often guides my stories.

CURRENTLY POSTED ON SITE

Fiction

Lost Lenore and Maple Man a short story written for my English project about understanding.

The Soloists another short story, written for a creative writing enrichment, about the power of expression and love.

Responsibilities and Cacti written for Fiction Writing 1 - two kids get lost at camp because one of them is a space-case and the other has an obligation to follow her

What Shows the Unseen written for Fiction Writing 1 - gold is valuable, magic means power, and only the kid no one talks to knows anything (may be continued)

Bloody Water written for Fiction Writing 1 - how do you help someone who can't tell you the problem? how do you ask for help when the only person that can help couldn't care less about you?

Third Child is Charmed written for Fiction Writing 1 - a family reunion on a modest cruise ship may end with the arrest of its black sheep on a technicality

Colored Heart short poem on race, love, and colors of skins and hearts.

Haiku: A collection just what it sounds like. 2 haiku so far.

Selflessness: An Ode ode written to the quality of selflessness.

Writing about angels by angels know the rest
I used to write about the angels lounging in church pews and strolling through stone halls like they owned the place: the way their hands would slide like light through a crying child's; or how their boneless jaws tightened at the crude drawings scrawled by the boys in the back row; how they might raise their voices in our songs but never cast the slightest shadow.
