![]() Author has written 16 stories for Love, Nature, Life, Romance, Young Adult, Historical, and Humor. Greeting to all of my readers! My pseudonym as a writer is Julie I. Wyatt. My real name is Iulia, so that's where "I." comes from. I am a huge fan of historical romances with a bit of philosophy in them, so mostly, that's what I write. I believe in first-person narratives and I pretty much dislike realism in literature for reasons that would be indeed too philosophical to write down. My favourite books are The Rosary, North and South (by Gaskell), The Thorn Birds, A Room with a View, The Age of Innocence, The Catcher in the Rye, Jane Eyre, Little Women, Gone with the Wind, Villette, Emma, To Kill a Mockingbird, Without Dogma, Quo Vadis, The Red and the Black, The Great Gatsby, Little Women, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, The Mistress of Shenstone, On the Road, Everything is Illuminated, The Woman in White and I'm currently reading and loving the Harry Potter series. Favourite movies include Rebel without a Cause, Spellbound, Casablanca, Notorious, La Dolce Vita, La Vita E Bella, The Graduate, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Almost Famous, Amazing Grace, Dead Poets Society, October Sky, Flipped, A Beautiful Mind, Annie Hall, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Before Sunset, Before Sunrise and Before Midnight, Patch Adams 500 Days of Summer, Scent of a Woman, Into the Wild, Jeux d'Enfants, Dangerous Liaisons, Forrest Gump, What Dreams May Come, Good Will Hunting, Manhattan, Once, Little Women, A Room with a View, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Catch Me if You Can, The Commitments, Blue Jasmine, Ray, Across the Universe, The Spectacular Now, That's What I Am,... and may I still go on? And of course, I cannot ignore music, since it is my biggest passion: Janis Joplin, Dire Straits, BB King, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Santana, Kenny G, AC/DC, Nat King Cole, Eva Cassidy, Led Zeppelin, Gary Moore, Chris Rea, Dave Koz, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Queen, The Beatles, Billie Holiday and a lot more jazz and blues singers. A few quotes/excerpts from my novel, "The Red Rose": "What if I find no thorns on the inside of this beautiful, not yet full-blossomed rose? I can easily resist an illusion, but when the illusion becomes real, I am afraid I will be willing to yield to it." — William, chapter 4 "There is nothing appealing about a woman who's not lost her head a bit in love, nothing worse than seducing a woman in her full mental faculties, because I knew that once the rational side took control over her, the magic would be irreversibly undone." — William, chapter 6 "You have something special, something that drives me crazy. I don't know why I care about you... I don't know why you should deserve it. I guess it's always the same — somebody must have the advantage of loving too little, and the other the disadvatage of loving too much. But it is not so to me. I don't regret a thing. But it hurts me, Rose — yes it does, even men get hurt sometimes, can you imagine that? It hurts me to see how much I give too you, and how little you give back…" — William, chapter 7 "I was a cruel man, and too much of an egoist. If I could turn back time, I'd take back my words then. A woman who gives herself to a man has a most sensitive heart which no one must be allowed to break. You loved me that night, I honestly can't figure out how, and why, but you did, even if just for one night. Now you don't love me anymore." — William, chapter 9 "One can only love once in a lifetime. Everything that comes after is only an attempt to reconstruct what is already lost." — William, chapter 13 "There is an old saying — 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder.' — but never before has it done justice to my beliefs. Most of the times, absence erased all traces of a past affair, all of the memories of the woman, no matter how unforgettable was her presence, her perfume, her countenance. However, this was not the present case. Rose was not part of any of my 'past' affairs, ours was as eternal as time, as constant as the stars shine on the never-ending sky. It is strange how we sometimes value something once we lose it (even though temporarily), more than when we have plentiful of it. One month ago, I could not make up my mind about our future, while now I could see it clear as day. I could not bear her absence any longer. What trivialities have kept me back from proposing to her, I could not possibly know." — William, chapter 14 "Ah, my dear Rose, you are so quick in denying the truth, even when you have the proof before your eyes. You have been so unhappy, that you are no longer used to the idea of being otherwise. But it is not a dream, not one that you own in your sleep at least, it is true, real, as sure as my name is William and as true as the love I have for you. I am asking you to be my wife, and you take so much of my time — time in which I am dying to hear your answer. It is hardly the way I imagined it. Do you not wish to be my wife?" — William, chapter 15 "Right then, while we were spread out on the sheets, lying on one side, face to face, the moonlight drenched our bodies with its glow, and it made it seem that we were more than man and woman that night; we were two worlds colliding, that could not exist one without the other." — Rose, chapter 17 "It is not our mind that makes us human. Of course, we cannot dispose of this faculty, but does it ensure happiness? I have been thinking too much, and felt too little." — William, chapter 19 For those interested, I have a blog: http:/// And a trailer for my novel... not a relevant one, but, oh well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjneGl8ExSY |
