Let's see, about me.

I'm 16, female, currently living in Russia. I'm on an exchange program, it's great fun, I turn into a human popsicle on a daily basis and then thaw out in front of the computer while writing stuff. I have another account on FP, but it's full of unfinished stuff that would be finished if I'd remembered to bring my flashdrive halfway around the world. Or if I'd remembered to back up my comp's memory onto my external hard drive. However, no such luck. So, to save myself from the bajillion 'I'm sorrys' I'd have to give out... I'm amerikanka.

Amerikanka means 'american girl' in Russian, which I'm slowly learning. Reviews are love, but I know all I've got up right now is a little one shot that I'm actually rather proud of. It turned out better than I was thinking it would be.

Um, bands I like that I've seen in concert are Death Cab for Cutie, Editors, Muse, Snow Patrol, Rogue Wave, Stars of Track and Field, Great Northern, Kaiser Chiefs, the Bravery (most rock-awesomest concert I've ever seen, totally bomb--I blew off Winter Formal to see them, so glad I did) Switches, Your Vegas, and a few others. Bands I'd love to see in concert are Keane, the Killers, U2, Modest Mouse, Queen, a reuniting of Pink Floyd (a girl can dream) and about a hundred more. And Beatles rock. People who don't like the Beatles are abominatons.

Books that are amazing are pretty much... well, most stuff I read. A Song of Ice and Fire, Kingkiller Chronicals, Harry Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide, some chick flick novels, and absolutly ANYTHING by Sherman Alexie. His poetry, prose, everything he's written is amazing. Favorite author, favorite poet... if you couldn't tell.

So, along with the fact that I'm in Russia (it's the most exciting thing about me) I have dark blond hair that's sorta golden, yes i'm aware that sounds like vanity, but I like my hair. I have light blue eyes--freakishly light, but they're pretty. I'm a teenage girl, so I think I could stand to lose a few pounds. I'm still waiting on my first kiss and my Russian fails, so I can't really talk to anyone here.

Being that I am in Russia, my updates and posts are going to be few and far in between. That said, I will do my best to write to the best of my abilities, run everything through SpellCheck, and not put too much bad Russian into my stories. Enjoy.

oh, and here's a few quotes for ya as well, some of my personal favorites...

Tough shit guides our lives.

If you let people into your life a little, they can be pretty damn amazing.

"Stukas are Russian." ~my 27 year old male friend, who likes WWII technology.

Me, 16 and female, also fond of WWII history, "No... Stukas are GERMAN."

He was very embarassed. He got shown up by a girl.

"I mean, the other day, some girl asked me if I was carrying Midol. I was like 'I'm a dude.'" ~my 16 year old male friend.

Later, same day, he said to me, "God, why are you so bitchy today? And why did you just steal my brownie?"

"Steven! That Midol comment comment earlier? I need chocolate."

Everything will be alright. Because it will. You just gotta work at it a little, give a little, and it'll be good. Promise.
