Hello. :) So, my name is Harriet, except that's a barefaced lie, because who uses their real name on this site? I've always loved to scribble down stories, which are also barefaced lies, only everyone knows, which apparently makes it okay. I wrote my first story when I was eleven, and although it was objectively awful, I like to think I have improved since that age. (No. You may not have a copy. If there was a copy floating around out there somewhere, I would find it and burn it.)

I write predominantly fantasy and horror, although I love to use historical settings for both, and I frequently sideline in surreal humour pieces. I like romance, but get bored when it's the central focus of the story. My favourite writers are probably Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, J.K. Rowling, and to a lesser extent, Holly Black and Stephen King. They're also probably the writers who influence me the most.

Some of you may remember I used to write on here maybe a year and a half ago. Some of you may not. Either way, I disappeared rather suddenly, and for that I apologize, but I'm back now. I will be posting mainly short stories for the interim, but Lord knows where I'll go. Currently I'm working on my first full-length novel, but it's in such a mess, I don't feel confident about posting it on here.

Right. I want tea. Do take care, all of you.

With love
