Many thanks to the talented Zebbie who's beta-ed a lot of my work!
Be kind enough to share your opinion on the show-case. Reviews of any shape and size are much appreciated, as long as they don't flame! Reviews are also highly encouraging and might just motivate me to pump out stories faster!
Over 100 hits to Drink Up in just 2 days! A lot more popular than I had initially thought it might be! The idea came to me as I was downing a bottle of Coke- very romantic, n'est-ce pas? I thought- some people can drink vodka this fast too. What would even bring them to that point? Add a beginning, middle, end and that little detail and you have a short about a long-suffering rent who copes in any way he can, even if that means he masks reality by fogging his brain up. I might just consider turning it into a full-length piece, though I'd be very interested to know how many would like to see that happen. Check out the poll and vote (please)!
My other shorts are mere elaborations on the occasional bolts of lightening I get. I write them down hastily and they usually spiral out into greater plots with more depth as random ideas run into them like flies into a cobweb. Jimmy dawned upon me as I was listening to a number by Saint-Saens and I imagined a lonely figure, prematurely ripped away from that which he loves most, with little to occupy his mind other than routine affairs. Edmund Haley was born. Many other pieces draw inspiration from paintings or mere images I come across from day to day, such as The dawn's light, the littered bed (which could very easily tie in with Drink Up), A Silent Understanding, a beautiful predicament, and Blue Butterflies.
