What did we do, To change the weather, To match my mood?

If I could tell him...

I tried for the Renaissance language as well as I could, but I'm sure to a more educated reader/poet, there is fault here. Comments appreciated. Shakespearean Sonnet.

Most teenagers are faced with the struggle to find who they think they should be. But what they usually turn out to be is the person someone else wants them to be. The words themselves are school-related, but the poem as a whole has a deeper meaning.

...Or do they remain, Forever frozen in time and place, Waiting for their friends to ruturn; For the fun they shall never again have?

It didn't seem obvious at the time, but looking back, was it? I mean, I acted all weird around him, did he ever notice? And his girlfriend; what of her? Did she ever mind that I hated her for having him when I so clearly wanted him?

Why won't he stop? Why won't he get out? He's driving me mad and I know he knows it, I mean, why else would he do it? He does know what he's doing, doesn't he? He should. It's not like he can read minds or anything... But still, he should know.

... More decisions and freedom; Not always fun. There's a lot of boredom, When it's time to play the responsible one... Finding balance takes time, I'm sure, But not as much As finding peace of mind..."

... Pen to paper for a solid half-hour... I call it freedom.

Growing up, none of us can wait for high school to come around. But what most people don't get right away, is the price that's paid for what most want entering high school; What we lose on that journey.

A short reflection on what keeps this writer going.

That boy. He just sits there. There's nothing special about him. Not really. So why can't I keep myself from thinking about him? From writing about him? "... He's only a boy... Not even a crush..."

Days spent idly. Nights spent wildly. What does a teenager do with their Summer Vacation?

Can't I just live my life? Be myself? Or do I have to abide by what you say is "cool" and "acceptable"? Is the way I live my life interferring with yout plan to rule the school?

...Trapped in an abyss of darkness and pain... What makes this girl this way? She feels the pain, but hides the scars. Does anyone know what she's going through? Does anyone care?

Some people aren't who they claim to be. Some friendships are completely fake. Sometimes, promises are broken and "friends" have to leave. Sometimes, you have to leave.

What difference would it make If they all knew that I spent Many a night crying myself to sleep, whispering what ails me To the familiar darkness That has become my friend; The only one who truly knows me?

Things were different. My life was different. Everything was different. Looking back, I was different...

What some people might go through while chasing their dreams: How people always tell you to follow your heart, but then go and basically try to prevent you from actually doing it. The jerks...

What someone might say or think when they get over someone; not just an ex. Because it's always hard to let go and move on with your life, no matter who you left behind or who left you behind.
