I am: Returning to the Remnants scene! I am so sorry for the long waits, I kinda lost track of life, I guess, and then got eaten by Fan Fiction. Today, I'm posting A Night to Forget (if I can find it in my documents!) and then I'm going to reread and edit Remnants, and hopefully post the next chapter sooner rather than later! If anyone is still around, thank you so much for your continued support. It really means a lot, since I started Remnants in High School and I'm now close to finishing first year of University...hashtag awks

I have this lovely little town called Swan Valley, where my characters live and experience life, basically. Just your average, ordinary people--with the odd little twist and turn, and perhaps some unaverage things as well.
When Henry Swan and his wife Isobelle Swan moved out of Swim City, they discovered a large, spacious area, completely uninhabited. They settled there, a few of the older residents of Swim City, and called the place Swan Valley--it was located directly beside a lake filled with Swans (Henry appreciated the Irony). Miles away, as Swim City slowly deteriorated, younger adults wanting a different life and elders wanting a slower, quieter town followed the Swans, bringing with them small businesses, shops, and population.
Finding himself Mayor of the town, Henry strives to keep Swan Valley as homey as possible. When Swim Fever destroyed Swim City, he offered refuge for those displaced, and continues to help Swim City clean up and repair after the disease that mirrored a plague and killed many of the citizens of Swim City.
Everyone who came to Swan Valley has a story. And everyone there is more than willing to tell their stories...
I have an official reading listand , so you can get the jist of what to read and if there's a specific order. Below, you'll find my rambling and long summaries of each story.
Remnants, the first story of the Valley, focus on ten year old Claire Aerovl. She grew up with her mom in Swim City. Then, when she was eight, her mother died of the Fever epidemic that hit the city. After two years living with her ruthless, promiscuous father, young Claire is snatched away from the wretched life she leads and sent to live with her Great aunt and uncle, soon to be her adoptive parents. Facing challenges like no other, Claire finally attempts to achieve a peaceful life. But when secrets are revealed and her peaceful life interrupted, Her cousin, soon-to-be sister Dannica and good friend Duncan help Claire to overcome her fears, and pick up the Remnants of her life to start fresh.
After Remnants comes , which is out on dA right now. (I meant to post it this winter, but totally forgot. So you'll all get a lovely Christmas story this year!). It comes almost directly after Remnants, give or take about a month-ish. In this little story, Swan Valley is rocked on Christmas Eve by a huge snowstorm. Both the McCabe's (who have an unexpected house guest that night) and the Swan's are worrying about their eldest kids--and as it happens, Derrick Swan and Dannica McCabe are stranded out in the snow. Together. How will they contact their families, and how on Earth will they wait out the storm safely?
Afterwards, Twelve Roses, which takes place a few years after the snowstorm, is next to be read, followed by Red Stilettos-the night Dannica and Derrick first met back in High School.
I have Dannica's story planned-Helplessly. It introduces the main family of the series, and goes in-depth to reasons why the McCabe's live on the secluded little piece of land that's not exactly attached to Swan Valley but is still Swan Valley. His family founded the town. Her family came to the town, in dept and wanted by the many people her father had betrayed. But Dannica can’t help but find herself helplessly in love with Derrick Swan. Despite the fact that Derrick Swan was a flirt, a charmer, and too obnoxious for Dannica to handle, she can’t help but like Derrick Swan, as much as she hates to admit it. He has a whole different person buried underneath, as she begins to learn. And with the recent threats that keep coming to haunt her family, Dannica needs to be closer than ever to the able bodied, well connected Constable Swan, least the worst actually happen...
Third Story will be about Derrick's twin sister (younger by a few minutes), Lizette, and new resident Julian Pointe-Clare. Called Dreamers, the story follows the drastic change of events for each person, until they meet one day...and I don't wanna spoil it, but here's a synopsis. Always overshadowed by her twin brother, Lizette Swan has finally moved out of the family home and begun her own life. A chance meeting with the sexy Julian Pointe-Clare turns Lizette's plans upside down, especially when she tries to delve into the tragic events that brought him to Swan Valley...
The Watch was a spur of the moment story I wrote while thinking of my Vovo, who passed away (nearly three years ago) June 7th, 2011. It's totally different from the people of Swan Valley, and I poured a lot of emotion into that piece. Give it a try, it's really sentimental to me :)
AND, the moment we've all been scrolling down for...THE STORIES BOX!
For now, ADIEU!
