Author has written 2 stories for Supernatural, and Romance.
Welcome, friends and lovers of paranormal fiction! :-)
I am the author formerly known as Morfiwien Greenleaf. After a great deal of consideration, I have decided to change my pen name to something a bit more pronounceable. The new pseudonym was inspired by L.M. Montgomery's Emily series and Marianne Dashwood.
This account is home to the original work for which I did not find a professional publisher, but wished to share with the world anyway:
TULPA -- a paranormal suspense
UConn student Katrina Talbot is left scrambling to avoid eviction when her boyfriend Josh abruptly moves out of their apartment just before Christmas. Desperate to afford rent until she can find another roommate, Kat takes a baby-sitting job in Dunbarton, New Hampshire for winter break. Located deep in the woods and isolated from civilization by all but a mile-long, unpaved driveway, her employer's house provides the perfect environment to brood over a broken heart.
But Kat gets more than she bargained for when she starts seeing odd footprints in the snow and menacing creatures lurking amid the trees. The unexpected arrival of the children's mysterious -- and charming -- older brother Peter further complicates matters…
THE WAKING OF A DREAM -- a paranormal romance
It is the summer of 1906 --
Maybelle Johnson and Jack O’Connell travel to her late uncle’s estate in western Massachusetts for the reading of his will. Maybelle anticipates a glorious week with the man she loves before she must return home and marry the man her domineering father has chosen for her. But with freedom comes danger -- someone has been waiting for this opportunity to exact revenge.
It is the summer of 1678 --
Jacob Weaver arrives in the Massachusetts Bay Colony as an indentured servant. He immediately falls under the spell of two beguiling sisters, Leah and Rachel Bradford. But Jacob must tread carefully -- or risk falling victim to a powerful curse.
A powerful curse spanning centuries --
More than 200 years later, this same curse threatens to destroy Maybelle and Jack as well. Their only hope for survival is learning where Jacob went wrong -- before the person who bears a grudge catches up to them.
ABOUT ME -- a biography of sorts
Who is this Emily Dashwood, anyway?
Emily Dashwood is a writer, which is a good thing -- otherwise this would be the wrong website for her work!
When did she start doing that?
Ms. Dashwood has been writing ever since she could hold a pencil -- though she did not produce anything coherent until she actually learned how to read. As a child, she wanted to be an artist. To prepare for this career, she authored and illustrated several charming books. But as she grew older, her artistic skills sadly did not keep pace with her talent for writing. That is why she does not write children's fiction.
Then what does she write?
Paranormal fiction -- with liberal doses of romance! Whether Ms. Dashwood's stories take place in cobwebbed Victorian mansions, prehistoric tropical islands or modern college dorms, they always have these two elements. There is also usually some hidden mystery and/or twist to be revealed, though her stories are not mysteries, per se.
Where does she get her ideas?
Honestly, Ms. Dashwood doesn't know where she gets her ideas -- they just seem to pop into her head. She will reveal that the magic dream fairy who visits her every night is quite helpful in that regard.
What about author influences?
But of course! To name a few -- Richard Matheson, Christopher Pike, Stephen King, L.M. Montgomery, Nell Gavin, Edgar Allan Poe. If Ms. Dashwood thinks of anyone else, she will let you know.
Anything else she wishes to tell us?
Ms. Dashwood also dabbles in fanfiction, which started as a guilty pleasure but soon morphed into her becoming "the high queen of the Music Man fandom." She writes under the pseudonym Marianne Greenleaf on fanfiction(DOT)net.
