Author has written 3 stories for Life, and Haiku. So you want to know more about me? Alright then, here it goes:
I'm a college student majoring in English, with a minor in women's studies. I am a feminist, and no, I'm not a lesbian, or a man-hater, so please don't send me flames about my social views. I'll just ignore it, or send you a very critical reply.
For me, pen and paper are my bread and water. I classify myself as a misanthrope, though I wasn't always like this.
I've always been writing, but I really didn't start to focus on what I wrote about until this year. Most of my original prose and poetry is about the loss of innocence, so if you don't approve of the genre, read something else.
I also like to discuss religion in my writing, even though I'm an atheist. Again, read at your own risk if you don't like your personal beliefs to be challenged.
As of right now, I'm trying not to read other people's work on Fictionpress.com. It's not personal; I just don't want my work to show the influences of any other writers.
It's probably pointless to include this, but I've added a list of my favorites, if anyone's interested.
Music: Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls, Enya, Pink, Santana, alternative rock, classical, Italian opera, and Celtic.
Books: Just about anything- fav. books include Betty Freidman, Merlin Stone, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Dickens, and a bunch of other people too many to name.
Poets: William Blake is my favorite; I highly recommend his "Songs of Innocence" and "Songs of Experience." Other favorites include John Keats, John Donne, Emily Dickinson, and Basho.
Well, I'm done for now. Feel free to send me comments, good or bad, about my writing. Criticism is healthy for writers, you know!
