Hi, I'm May (Previously Secret and Strange Angel). I'm a fourth year science major, English minor, with a passion for writing, which I'd like to share with you! Anywho, here's some random stuff about me...

I am hugely in love with Firefly, BBC's Sherlock, Batman (and superheroes in general), Harry Potter, and a bunch of obscure geek culture stuff. Feel free to talk to me about any of that, because I can go on forever.

If I could be any animal, I would be a platypus. Why? Don't get me started on how cool platypuses are. If you don't think they are the tightest shit, you need to bippity boppity back out of my life.

I don't have an appendix anymore :D

I have seen 21 winters since my day of birth

My favourite movies include The Phantom of the Opera, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, Cats, Red Eye, 300, and The Last Unicorn. This is in no way a comprehensive list. I'm a bit of a cinophile.

I'm a huge bookworm. Seriously, I love books. My Dad taught me to read before I entered kindergarten and I've been reading ever since.

Popcorn is my favourite snack. ever.

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would live in Amsterdam. I fell in love with that city when I went to Europe a few years ago.

I work two part time jobs on a reasonably regular basis. One is with my university, running an after school science club for inner city schools. The other is with the army as a Combat Engineer bona fide badass. I recently got promoted to corporal, with all the swag (read: none) and responsibilities (read: also none) that entails.

...Yeah, that's all I can think of. As far as current projects go, this is what's on the docket;

Poems

I don't ever really commit to pumping out poems. If I'm in the mood, I'll write poetry. I used to be really big into quatrains, but I'm slowly pushing out into the realm of free verse.

Stories

As far as short stories go, I have one of two left over from my creative writing class, so I might post them here.

As far as longer stories go, I have one that is in the planning stages, so that will hopefully blossom as I have more time to work on it over the summer.
UPDATE: I have started working on said planning stages story, and will be posting what I have soon :D It's not a lot, but I'm working on it for a novel writing class, which, if nothing else, gives me a reason to actually sit down and write the damn thing.
UPUPDATE: I'm three chapters into my novel project, and have decided to start posting it here. Huzzah!

Et al
I recently took a screenwriting class, and quite enjoy writing them. I've posted one already (A Day in the Life), and I'm currently working on another for a friend, which I'll likely post once I'm done writing it.
If you would like to use one of my screenplays, or God forbid the stage play I wrote, please message me first. It shouldn't be a problem, but I would like credit for my work.

Wow, that really didn't say much. Oh well If you like what I write, or hate it, whatever, let me know! I love to receive feedback, and the hatred of my enemies gives me life. I promise to review your stuff if you review mine, in a very Hannibal Lecter-like Quid Pro Quo.

Cheers!
May
