Hi, I'm Brecky!
I'm slowly but steadily working on the challenge below, by my friend windwhistles. If any of you are working on this challenge, too, please let me know! I'd love to read your stories!
A little bit about me: I'm a grad student studying music and theology. I love reading, writing, going on road trips and working on crafts with my husband Camembert. We also have two cats, Beatrice and Cecilia, who like to help us with whatever we're doing.
Thank you so much for reading this story! :)
Aphrodite finds Love Challenge : by windwhistles (fanfiction.net)
Prompt: "She'd begun thinking about it quite often. What was love, anyway? Surely she should know after having endorsed it for all these millennia. But the more she thought about it, the more she was convinced that she didn't know what it was, and that was unacceptable. Humans begged her for it, and having found it, thanked her for it. Yet, she, the divine personification of the concept, had no idea of its meaning. She was going to have to remedy the situation, which was urgent enough to call for immediate attention. Aphrodite was going on a quest for love..."
Pairing: Aphrodite / Hephaestus
Words: Obviously there is no way Aphrodite and Hephaestus are going to fall into each other's arms right away and declare eternal love. There's far too much bad blood between them for that. The number of words isn't fixed, but this is probably meant to be a multi-chaptered story.
Type: Love story
1. Aphrodite has a conversation with Hera (who is, incidentally, Hephaestus' mother)
2. Hephaestus is lame and remains as such. He cannot be perfect.
3. Ares, one of Aphrodite's erstwhile lovers
4. Aphrodite learns about love in the human world
Hope you enjoy this challenge! Be as creative as you like. Try to follow at least a few of the ancient myths as a basis, but create your own story. Bear in mind that the love story can take place in any age. Have fun!
