Author has written 450 stories for Romance, Humor, General, Historical, Sci-Fi, Young Adult, Fantasy, and Spiritual.
I was a shy, insecure, lonely kid growing up in an alcoholic family so romance wasn't something I experienced and the traumas from my youth haunt me to this day. Writing here is therapy for me.
I get most of my story ideas from real life incidents I have heard about or expeirenced myself. I keep an ear open listening for potential story ideas. Just as actors observe life, writers do too. Reading newspapers, magazines and social media can trigger story ideas and of course stories on this site can also help all of us come up with ideas of our own.
I try to make my characters vulnerable and I like the idea of redemption, second chances, and love found.
A Disconnected Life: The Flight of Birdy Braft is by far the longest and I would like to think most developed story here, the first one I posted. It is my favorite. I'm also proud of How I Spent the Blizzard of '78 and Becoming Savinski among others.
Hillsboro, Greenville, and Blue County - frequent settings of most of the stories here - are based loosely on the area I grew up in.
As of 7/30/19, here are the most viewed stories (in order) – Not Another Typical Fiction Press Teacher-Student Story, My Best Friend’s Girl, Weekend at Frank’s, Summer of (Sex and) Love, and Liz’s Sperm Donor. Of these five, I would say Weekend at Frank’s is my favorite.
