![]() Author has written 31 stories for General, Nature, Life, Historical, General, Fantasy, Essay, Family, School, and Humor. Hey, welcome to my page! :-D I’m AuroraBorealis13, a somewhat introverted college student studying music (oboe performance) and English (writing emphasis) with a love of all things creative. Things I love: writing, reading, playing piano, playing piano and singing, singing in choirs or small ensembles, playing oboe and/or English horn in bands and orchestras, sight-reading, improvising, hanging out with family and friends, my incredibly strange and tolerant cat Saturn, ballroom/swing dancing, the smell of rain, thunderstorms, stargazing, lilies of the valley, taking naps in the sun, drawing, Indian cuisine, Chinese cuisine, curry, my mom’s homemade cooking and baking, milk, lefse, rømmegrøt, learning, the smell of books, Disney movies, listening to music, chocolate, being in bookstores… Things I dislike: hours of homework, sweltering hot days, close-minded people, bullies, other mean people, mosquitoes, ignorance, arrogance, stress, having to get up early, tests… Favorites Books: The Sword of Truth series, the Harry Potter books, Eon and Eona, any book by Dawn Cook, any book by Tamora Pierce, the Leviathan Trilogy, Graceling and Fire, the Artemis Fowl series, the Sevenwaters Trilogy…and many others (I essentially have my own library with more than 300 books). Movies: Tangled, the Harry Potter movies, The Illusionist, The Italian Job, Star Trek, Stardust, Avatar, Spirited Away, Inception, Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Life is Beautiful, Seven Pounds, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Prince of Egypt, August Rush TV shows: Sherlock (I’m kind of obsessed…), Doctor Who, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Once Upon A Time, Bones, New Amsterdam (so mad they canceled it…), Numb3rs, Legend of the Seeker, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Mythbusters, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?, Ghost Adventures, The Office, The Soup Music: The Fray, Jason Mraz, Adiemus, The Corrs, Sting, Anuna, Celtic Woman, Josh Groban, soundtracks (anything from Disney to Lord of the Rings), Coldplay, Dan Rodriguez, Mumford and Sons, Flogging Molly, Norah Jones, Starkid, Weird Al, Enya As far as my writing goes, I mainly write fantasy (despite all the poems I have on here right now, I'm not much of a poet, and those are probably the only poems you'll be seeing from me). I am currently about 110 pages (Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced) into a fantasy novel I'm writing that I WILL NOT be posting on here because I'd like to try to get it published someday (which means I can't realistically post it online because the publishers will very likely want exclusive rights to it). Right now I have a story idea that I will hopefully start soon and get posted on here, but it's VERY different from anything else I've ever written - as far as I know now, there won't be any fantasy elements to it, and it will be much darker than my usual style. I haven't a clue what I'm going to call it yet, either. Oh well. (Update 6/09/12: I’m not sure when I’ll be posting that story. I may start a different one instead.) Anyway, thanks for visiting my page, and I hope you can find something you'll enjoy! Update 10/31/10: I'm really sorry I haven't posted the aforementioned story yet. So much for getting that posted on here "soon." Between homework for my Physics, AP Calculus, and AP English Language and Composition classes, play practice, orchestra rehearsal, and math league, I haven't really had any time to write. I did however post a short piece I wrote during a college visit workshop, and I hope to soon post another piece from that same college visit, but I have to add to it first (it wouldn't make sense to post it as it is right now.) Update 11/26/10: Well, I've finally posted the other story from that college workshop. Now I just have to finish that story I originally talked about...and finish working on my physics sailboat...Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! =) Update 4/11/11: I've just posted something else--this time from my AP Language class. It's called "Sera"--check it out! It's pretty short, but hopefully the writing isn't too shabby. I really regret not having more time to write this year...Senior year has just been so hectic. I can't wait until mid-May when pretty much everything I need to get done will be done and I can just coast for the last few weeks of school. I honestly don't know when I'll get the story I originally mentioned posted--as I've said, I've been pretty busy. I really do hope to get it up SOMETIME, however. I just don't know when that sometime will be. Oh, and I don't think I've mentioned this, but I'm a Beta now! I'm currently beta-ing for -xoxo Morgan and Luce-Juice (Sincerely, Eli), so check them out! And I really hope that FP fixes whatever they need to fix so that the formatting icons are back--I'm not used to using HTML... Update 6/02/11: Well, I've just posted a contest thingy. Check it out! And once I'm through with all the graduation madness, I'll hopefully get some more stories posted! Update 6/09/12: Uffda. It’s been a while. Let’s just say college is even busier than high school. Anyway, I would have updated and posted things a couple of days ago, but I wasn’t able to log in for some reason. I kept getting the message “Oops! We cannot find this page on login.fictionpress.com. Most likely you are accessing the site with an outdated link. https://login.fictionpress.com/login.php.” It made me very sad…When I was able to actually get to the login page today and log on, let’s just say I squealed a little bit in happiness. Anyway, the new pieces I have on here now are two stories adapted from my acting class midterm and final; a college research essay that I actually found very enjoyable to write (and everyone who has read it says it’s really interesting); and a short story assignment from back in 10th grade that I originally posted on a separate account that I share with a friend. Since we’re never on that account anymore, I thought I’d put the story here where it will hopefully get more views. Oh, and I’ve also revamped this profile. Happy summer, everyone! :-) Update 3/10/14: SO. I think we can safely say that my posting on here is always going to be fairly sporadic. At the same time, I know that I won't be completely abandoning this site by any means for many years--I just may not be posting frequently. I've just uploaded a bunch of stuff from my creative writing classes last year, and I'm hoping to get a couple more things from last year up soon. And then maybe I'll have time to write some actual stories this summer. We'll see. (I'm traveling Europe until then!) I hope life is treating you all well! |
