I shifted in the seat of my old grey desk chair, the seat creaking slightly. My gaze was set intently on the bright screen on the computer, Word Documents open and waiting. My fingers stood posed and ready, waiting for inspiration to hit me and let the words flow effortlessly onto the page. Words and pictures swirled like a vortex in my mind, piecing together ideas and characters. So many ideas yet none stick out and claim their place on the page.

Perhaps I will write about fantasy, exploring magical realms filled with fantastic creatures that could only exist in imagination. Maybe an adventure, following the death-defying quests of a brave and daring protagonist. Or shall I delve into the complicated turmoil that is romance, capturing all of loves wonderful emotions to play at the heartstrings?

Should it be a novel, a poem, a short story? Where will it begin and where will it end? Happy or sad? Humorous or serious?

A hesitant tap of the keys, then more steadily growing until I am typing rapidly, but not fast enough to keep up with my whirling mind. I don't bother with spelling or punctuation just yet, or with organization. All I can do it let the creativity go.

Of all the cars in the world, he had to go and steal ours. All the Borkenbob family wanted was a nice dinner at Burger King, but while getting their greasy meal their family car gets stolen! Now they must travel across the land after a master criminal to get their beloved vehicle back. Pure crack and humor (kinda), written for my Creative Writing class's prompt to write a play!
