There are plenty of trite, boring things about myself that I can say on here. I'd rather not, as I'm on here primarily for the purpose of reviewing anyway.
It could be said that I'm a musician. At least in the sense that music is the form of art, the "language" that I understand and relate to the best. The written word comes as a close second.
I do not care so much for detailed characterizations nor impeccable grammar nor the ability to describe a wooded forest in full sunlight down to the last detail. All these things may embellish a story, but do not constitute the soul of it. Furthermore, I am not an expert, and should never care to be.
It is the reason for which a poem or story is written that gives it beauty, and writing should be judged on the basis of how well it communicated that reason, both emotionally and mentally, to the reader. I am always delighted--more than delighted--to discover those extremely rare instances when someone in this modern society uses the gift of language in a purposeful, meaningful way that is capable of making me think, or even rarer, making me think and feel.
