Hello, fellow readers/writers! :D How's it going? Come here to find out more about the girl who calls herself Krystal.Lake? Well, you came to the right place. There's so many things you could ask about me. But, guess what? You can't ask me anything, so I'm just going to assume I know what you're interested in learning about me. And if there's anything else, you can message me and possibly make a new friend. Because I love making new friends. :D
So.. I'm 16 years old - my birthday's on March 12 - and I've been writing/reading for as long as I can remember. I think ever since I could understand what I was writing, I've been trying to write books and short stories and poems. I'm not too sure how much my poetry and writing in general have improved, and I know there's still some things I need to work on. But no one's perfect, right? :)
The reason I read so much is to escape. And yes, that does sound really cliche. I know this. But reading really does allow me to travel to different countries, worlds, and time periods. And all I have to do is open a book! How cool is that?! Reading also gives me a way into another person's mind. It allows me to see how someone else thought, and I can feel something like a connection to that person just through their books. It's the closest thing to mind reading I'll ever be able to come to, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to take advantage of that and read as much as I can.
I like to write a lot, too, and for mostly the same reason. I get to live out my fantasies and daydreams through what I write, and no one can say anything to me about it at all because it's my writing. I like creating imaginary characters that have human traits and qualities and that are based off of actual, real-life people I either know, or have heard of. I like creating imaginary worlds and events that I never got to be a part of. Or that I had been a part of but I just loved them so much I wanted to write about them so I could never forget what it was like.
A few of my stories might have something to do with sports - like, the main characters are a part of the tennis team, soccer team, softball team, etc. - but that's only because I love to play sports. I used to play softball when I was younger, and I'm on my high school's tennis team. And I have friends who run track, cross country, and are on the field hockey, basketball, football, and soccer teams. Since I love sports just as much as I love writing, a lot of my characters are going to be active people. Because I'm an active person. For the most part, anyway.
What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that my main characters are going to have my characteristics or characteristics of some of my friends. Because it's easier for me to write that way. If I try to write about someone I have no idea about, it's a horrible failure, and I get all depressed and stuff and don't want to try anymore. So I stick to writing about what I know. However, I do include some things in my writing that I'm not 100% sure on. Like this one time, I wrote a story where the main character had to go to the hospital. And since I've never been a patient in a hospital and I didn't feel like looking it up, I just went with what I thought happened or could happen. I don't do things like that very often, though. And when I do, I'll put a little warning at the beginning in an author's note.
Now that, that's all over with, who the hell actually read's someone's entire profile? I mean, I know I don't. Not if it's really long and it would take me longer to read their profile than it would to read their stories, that is. But that's just me. And with that all said, I hope you enjoy my stories/poems. And don't forget to follow me, favorite me, my stories, review, whatever. Every little bit of feedback helps. :)
