Graduated finally and trying to stabilize my new life in the workforce. Been some ups and downs over the last 8 years, but I'm spending a lot of time working on my writing and learning a lot about the craft. I'm looking forward to sharing some new content with you, soon. :-)
Heartstone has been updated with a few minor tweaks.

A MESSAGE TO READERS:
What you call being 'too lazy to review' is what we call 'a flame to the pages' as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt 'too lazy' to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...
"Why am I even here…?"
"What's even the point of continuing?"
"My skills must be terrible…"
"No one cares for my story…"
"I'll never be a good writer..."
These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter/story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.
If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…
If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…'Wow…I did it…'
So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?
Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.
Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm quite sure others would have deeply enjoyed.
Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise.
Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fictionpress, and see if you can help it. If it has very little/no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.
And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Age: Old enough
Genres Typically Used: Mystery, Adventure, Romance, Fairy Tale, Fantasy, Poetry, etc. (not necessarily in that order)
Ratings: K, K, occasionally T. It'll never go higher, that's just me...
Fav. T.V. Shows: Been into NCIS and Glee lately. Big fan of OUAT, Sherlock, Castle, etc. I like crime shows a lot XD I enjoy the original MacGyver, the old X-Files, Smallville, and old cartoons like The Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, and Scooby Doo, etc. I like to watch the good shows that they used to play on T.V. I feel for the kids who grow up with...Ant Farm? Seriously dude? What happened to Even Stevens and Kim Possible, Red Skelton and The Dick Van Dyke Show, Andy Griffith, and stuff like that???
Fav. Movies: Huh, funny. Do you really want the list? Okay...Maleficent! The Princess Bride, Ladyhawke, Willow, Signs, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, It Takes Two, Anastasia, The Swan Princess, Quest for Camelot, just about any Disney Princess movie, and Barbie Princess movies (Yes), um...should I go on? I'm really getting into all the new superhero movies. The X-Men movies. LOTR, of course and the Hobbit movies. The Die Hard series is classic, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were really good, and who doesn't love Christmas movies?! The Iron Giant, the Italian Job, and so so so many more!!
Fav. Books: Right, like I'm actually gonna pick a fav.
I prefer to pick favorites within a genre, and favorite authors to follow. :-) I read a lot of mysteries, fairy tales, sci-fi, dystopian, fantasy, etc.
So, some of my childhood favorites include books by Shannon Hale, Gail Carson Levine, and Margaret Peterson Haddix. By Hale, I particularly enjoyed The Goose Girl and the rest of the Books of Bayern as well as The Princess Academy. Ella Enchanted and The Two Princesses of Bamarre are two of my very favorite books in the world, both by Levine. And I really loved Double Identity, Just Ella, Turnabout, and The Shadow Children Series by Haddix. Her Missing Series was also excellent. Other childhood favorites include Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell, the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, and the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke. I also read a lot of books from these series: Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Boxcar Children, The Animorphs, The Bailey School Kids, Alex Rider, etc.
Terri Blackstock is a favorite in the mystery and suspense genre. Her Restorationquartet is probably my favorite of her works. I also really liked Emerald Windows and The Newpointe 911 series. I love classics such as Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. Both C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia series and his outstanding nonfiction works have been very influential in my life. I particularly enjoyed the classic Screwtape Letters. Tolkien's LOTR and The Hobbit are classic.
And lastly, I'm a pretty big fairy tale nerd. Melanie Dickerson has written some really good historical fairy tales in her Hagenheim series and in her Thornbeck series. I very much enjoyed The Lunar Chronicles and Jessica Day George's Princesses of Westfalin trilogy. But there are a few indie authors I've fallen absolutely head over heels for: Brittany Fichter is my favorite. Her writing is amazing, but definitely check out her Autumn Fairy trilogy and her Classical Kingdoms books. J. M. Stengl's Faraway Castle books are adorable and I love them. Mellanie Cellier writes such sweet, sweet retellings in her Four Kingdoms and the spin-off series. I'm currently reading more by K. M. Shea and A. G. Marshall, too, and very much enjoying those. Shari L. Tapscott is excellent, too.
Lastly, there is a series that is very near and dear to my heart by J. M. MacLeod. The series is called The Singing Sword. Book one is Inception of a Brigade. It's an inspiring allegorical series with creative creatures, a fascinating world, and fast-paced action. The book has meant a great deal to me personally and I can't help but recommend it to the world.
Odds and Ends:
I'm a teacher, a Grammar Nazi and English wiz, a language aficionado (particularly the romance languages), and I love to cook, walk, crochet, and make music. I love beautiful nature scenes like sunsets, waterfalls, and starry nights. I love colors, especially greens and blues. I'm a mermaid at heart, but I love elves and phoenixes and dragons, too. I think family is something to be appreciated and that everyone has been given a gift to use to live on purpose for a purpose. I'm passionate about helping others live intentionally and about writing stories that shine a light in our dark world.
Nickname: I have multiple, and I still instinctively reply to all of them:

Coya -by my Aunt T.
Coodie Coo -by my Gma N. and Gpa T.
