I write whenever I get the chance. I began to write creatively in 6th grade and my stories have grown from there, with the help of my friends. Even now, I am always looking to change my work, to make it better. These are all the stories I am working on now:
The Word Love: This is the first story I ever wrote. I wrote it back in...7th grade, I believe. Then I rewrote it because, trust me, it was absolutely horrible. It barely had a plot and the ending sucked. But it is sad and not for the faint-hearted. Even though it might seem like your typical romance, it's not. Tell me what you think about it, I love hearing from random people about my writing. :)
Black Soul Eternal Rose: I think this the most meaningful story I have written. It's also sad, but has its happy moments too. Rose has gotten to be one of my favorite characters I've created because she's not your average girl. She had something terrible happen to her, but she doesn't choose to mope and whine about it. Instead, she immediately takes the role of Cooper's mother and this makes her very mature. She's, in my opinion, very deep and can be passionate at times. She values her family more than anything. Marshall is my friend Bridget's favorite though. She says he's awesome :). Which he is I guess, but I also like him because he's not just a trouble-maker or a prankster. He can be really sweet and sensitive and deep, just like Rose.
Not Just a Girl: This is a story that I've done entirely on the computer because it was originally in Melrose's POV. I'm really liking how it's coming along, though and I hope my readers are too. I like the fact that Evan is so far gone for Melrose and she has no idea. It's really sweet and fun to create. I decided to post Evan's POV because I wanted to get inside his head. I wanted to see what in the world he was thinking throughout Melrose's story. And I found he's actually really funny, caring and has mixed emotions about his feelings for Melrose. It's one of my favorites that I've written.
The Space Between Heaven and Hell: This is the one of the more serious stories I've written. It's mostly about a romance between a spirit named Alli and a medium named Noah. Noah seems to be the only one who can see and hear Alli, while every other medium can only sense the darker spirit, a man named Lance, who overpowers her. The story isn't all about the romance, though. It also focuses on the attempts and tremendous effort that is put forth by the supernatural team and Alli to try to save the family that is living in the house Lance dwells in from a terrible fate.
One of the Guys: Melrose was a creation of my inner tomboy. As a child, I played with a yellow Tonka dumptruck and buried the Barbies I received for Christmases and birthdays in the dirt. Melrose is much the same way in that she has no use for girly ways and habits. They don't interest her. Though, just like I have become more girly, I strive to make her a little more feminine by the end of the story. Her feelings toward Evan soften up her rough edges a bit. I have gotten several comments regarding the group of guys that she hangs out with, referred to as "The Guys." They did not particularly come from any people in my life, but just bits and pieces of personalities and dreams of people I've met, gone to school with, and so they're not just based on one person I've encountered. Therefore, they're all a little quirky, and have interesting twists on their personalities, such as Ben. One would never expect a party animal to be a psychologist, but it's possible :) In short, Melrose's POV, on which "Not Just a Girl" was based, comes fairly easily to me and I enjoy working on it.
Fifteen Puzzle: A Fifteen Puzzle is a handheld number game. The object is to slide the numbers into place in increasing order from left to right. It contains four rows and one empty space. The puzzle requires patience and dedication. One cannot let one wrong move keep him or her from finishing the puzzle. I chose this title because I believe it strongly relates to the story. Jenny represents the person who has made an incorrect move. In the beginning, she dwells on it for too long and it ruins her outlook and puts her at a standstill. But slowly she begins to realize if she just starts over, not erasing her mistake but making another "move" to fix it, she will achieve her goal of healing the wounds created by Sean. This was a fairly difficult story to write. I have never experienced nor been in contact with anyone who has experienced most of the things in this story. Not once have I been near a care center, or had a boyfriend like Sean, fortunately. The only thing I possess to help me is my ability to walk in other peoples' shoes. So far, I believe I'm doing alright with making this narrative realistic.
The Devil is My Girlfriend: This is "Black Soul, Eternal Rose" in Marshall's POV. He explains his side of the story and brings to light what goes on in his mind (footnotes will be used). He also has his own problems, though it doesn't seem like it during "Black Soul, Eternal Rose." I'm shooting for realistic, interesting, entertaining and emotion-provoking all at the same time. I hope people will enjoy it when I post it :)
Not Just a Girl chapter 4 or Black Soul, Eternal Rose chapter 4 or The Devil is My Girlfriend chapter 1 (all on my to-do list)
I hope you read what I write.
