I used to be Emma Kathryn, then I changed to Menlathiel, and now I'm back. ;-)

I'm just your average highschooler, living on a rock in the middle of the ocean. (Hey, that description technically fits every geographical location on Earth. So why shouldn't I use it?) I'm incredibly busy, but I'm striving to get back into the run of things. I have works posted both here and on FanFiction.net, and I'm constantly producing! My Fiction Press works:

91101

This was, obviously, written on the day of Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. It details some of my feelings of that time that I'm sure many share. This is a tribute to all those who lost their lives or the lives of loved ones in the terrorist actions of that day.

91102

A companion poem to "91101" - the feelings of irritation at the world and what's happened since September 11th, 2001 as recorded on September 11th, 2002.

Thoughts for a Snowy Day

A little cutsie poem I wrote for English class a few weeks ago. The goal was to use the word "back" and the derivitaves thereof as many times as possible (without being redundant, of course). It turned out to be a pretty cute little endeavor.

Eleandred: or "For the Love of Katrina"

A very fun dramatic verse written one day at school when I was SUPPOSED to be doing my spanish homework. I think it was worth it, though. ;-)

Beautiful Danger

This was written after a huge winter storm swept through my home state and wreaked utter devestation, including a power outage of nearly a week in some places. It's a meditation on the everpresent danger in beautiful things, and it's definitely one of my better works.

The Swing

This is my FAVORITE poem I've EVER written. There's an old tree-swing behind my grandfather's house where I go to think. A bittersweet half-metaphorical poem about change and nostalgia.

"Are we yet at war?"
This is a poem I wrote the night of March 19th. I hadn't been sure all evening of the exact time Bush had set for Hussein, and so the entire evening was spent in babysitting and trepidation. . .until the news came.

To read my fan fictions (including a full-length Harry Potter novel) check out Fan Fiction.net, where I am also Menlathiel.

There's an old tree-swing at my grandfather's house that I've walked to ever since I can remember. It doesn't fly freely like it used to, but now it's my thinking-spot. (My favorite poem!)

I'm rating this PG because it is so intense. This is a poem written the night of Tuesday, September 11th, trying to combat some of my feelings about Tuesday's events. Please read. I won't beg for reviews, but I'd like a few opinions.
