Hey guys, some of you might know me from FanFiction as LupeHunter. I love this site, it lets my work be analysed by complete strangers and so I don't have to bother my friends anymore :P

I do plan to have some of my work published at some point. Thus far, I haven't had any luck other than the MANY requests from self-publishing companies. I'm sorry, but I'm not planning to spend £700ish for my book to not even do that well. Here's a conversation I had with a company from America a little while ago:

Me: Hello? (I'm very formal when I don't reconise the number)

Lady (She didn't tell me her name): Hello, ma'am, I'm calling from the (can't give the name out for legal reasons) company in the US, am I speaking with Miss (dont want to give my name out either)?

Me: Yes.

Lady: I'd like to offer you a range of packages available to publish your book, ma'am, can I offer you them now, or is this a bad time?

Me: Uh... Is this a self-publishing company?

Lady: Yes, ma'am.

Me: I'm sorry, but I can't really afford a self-publishing.

Lady: How old are you, ma'am?

Me: 15.

Lady: Okay, sorry to waste your time. (So I'm not worth a 'miss' or 'ma'am' now I'm only 15?!)

This was about the third or fourth conversation I had with a publishing company. Moral? Don't contact a self-publishing company in the first place! They never leave you alone!
