Shoe stores, Starbucks in the morning, small kittens with big, innocent eyes, marathons, the feel of skin on skin, the smell of fresh laundry, the lint leftover in the dryer, the sound of boots on a sidewalk smeared with leftover rain, Friday nights and Saturday mornings, music when sad, music when happy, music, new purses, leather, fingernails on wood, fingernails on polished marble, British people, movies that leave an indent on the soul, writing at three AM, pedicures, bookstores, cartoons, poetry and poets like Bukowski, novels that unstitch hearts, the smell of clean T-shirts, watches that glint like diamonds, popping knuckles, making children smile, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and, most importantly, people who love themselves. These are a few of a my favorite things.
