"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone."

-Bill Cosby

Writing is one of the most complicated processes I've ever encountered. But one of the most valuable lessons I've learned through it, is to always write for yourself first. Write something that you're proud of, something that tugs near and dear to your heart. And even when the going gets tough, and it feels like someone keeps throwing road blocks like there's no tomorrow, keep going. It's not going to be easy, or smooth, or spectacular the first time you write. There will be people who don't like what you write. People who won't even give it the time of the day. None of that matters if you're proud of your own words. And in order to improve, remember to take in criticism with an open mind, and above all else, keep writing, because the only way you're going to get better is to practice it over and over again. I've learned this from other, more fabulous writers, and hope that all you fellow writers keep it in the back of your mind as well because I love reading as much as I love writing.

Writers united, may the force be with you.
