A Little Bit about me (Well, actually rather a lot):

My old profile has been removed because it really was old. I understand that I have had an insanely long hiatus - starting University tends to do that to you! I'm going to try and structure in some time for my writing because it has always been my passion. With regards to the long piece I am currently writing, Resilience: Blood and Fortitude, see the title named A/N for more details on how I am proceeding with it.*

- Resilience: Blood and Fortitude, Every second Sunday (after redrafting is done).
- Poetry, on alternate Sundays to when I update Resilience. (after redrafting is done).
- Redrafting: 1 poem/chapter a day is my minimum until the 5th of January, then there will be a 1 week hiatus as I am on Primary school placement for University.

Summary of me as a writer:

Hello fellow readers and writers!

My FictionPress name is InkFlowsIntoPower (which might well be changing) but I prefer to just go by Inky as it is less of a mouthful. I have just begun my fourth semester of University where I am studying History and English Education. I have been away from this site for a long time largely because I was learning about English language and literature in a way I never have before. I wanted to wait until I had got to grips with the theory I had learned and was able to include it in my own writing. I feel that now is the best time to return to writing.

As a writer, I tend to favour high fantasy/epics, and reflective poetry. I have entered a couple of competitions and I am currently typing up my entry to another. While I am very competitive (you should see me when I am playing Total War games online!), it is also nice to be able to write things that are just for my, and of course my wonderful readers' interest and joy. I like to challenge myself when I am writing, so I have tried my hand at poetry, prose in a number of genres, songwriting, and even a play script (which is so terrible I refuse to acknowledge its existence).

I am a member of my University's Creative Writing Society and have made some great friends there who were able to help me improve as a writer massively. I am on their committee and I am seriously considering making a page on here to showcase some of their works.

I think I am going to try and make this profile short and sweet, but will finish by doing a little quiz about me:

  1. What was your favorite food when you were a child? Was and still is my Mum's homemade pizza!
  2. What’s your favourite song? That's a tough one - as a singer I tend to love lots of songs. My favourite would have to be Welcome to my World by Jim Reeves. It was my Grandmother's favourite song, and the one played at her funeral. It was also the first song I ever sang in front of people. Also, if you're interested, a recording of it is on Soundcloud at this address: https:///one-last-note
  3. What is one of your favorite quotes? "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." J.R.R Tolkien.
  4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?Either singing or writing for indoor, and cycling or walking for outdoors.
  5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing? TIDYING!!! I should be doing that now...
  6. What's your favorite colour? A deep, rich red colour.
  7. What's your favorite story? That would have to be the Belgariad/Mallorean series by David Eddings (its all technically one story).
  8. What's your favorite movie? Lord of the Rings.
  9. And TV series? Hannibal. (the films were a close second to lotr).

If you people want to know anything else, PM me and I will answer and might add it to the list.

Hope you all enjoy some of my work. All the best,

Just a poem devoted to my memories of my Grandmother and how alike we were. This is not your average bereavement poem - though I refer to the funeral, it is mostly a tribute to the lady who inspired me to write. Though I have said it is complete, I am willing to edit it to make it better so feel free to put suggestions in the reviews. Though it says it is over 1000 words, its not.
