![]() Author has written 19 stories for Sci-Fi, General, Mythology, Humor, Play, Fantasy, Nature, Romance, Supernatural, Life, and Love. (Jojo) I write what I like, and I like what I write. An excerpt from Bending Shadows (a work by me): Think of the dinosaurs. Their very existence is nearly as unlikely and uncalled for as our own. The scattered and shattered bones of ancient days in time, those fleeting moments, that somehow tumbled into eternity. Those massive mammoths, those raptors then wolves, however improbable, however odd, we're here and among the newest of Earth's dominants (at least we'd like to think so). Albeit we aren't the largest, nor the strongest, nor the most driven. We're withering shells with a brief consciousness and man-made goal. Green paper, those many things, a system of light switches, (one to light the path to the next). I'd much rather stumble in the dark and discover something other than the wall of switches. I wish to discover what the dark veil hides, the fabric of its very mystery. Think of the dinosaurs, were they not once as we? Invincible? Each night in sleep we lay ourselves at the mercy of everything else. The very fabric of space could be swallowed in one miss breath as we dreamed those dreams of blankness, only to wake up and discover we'd created it, as we lied asleep. I suppose my username could use some explanation, it comes from the Sigur Ros song Svefn-G-Englar. I hope to receive informative and critical advise from readers and writers alike, I encourage opinion and correction so please do review if your going to read my work. I consider a review a sort of currency on sites such as these, especially if a work is entertaining to the person reading it. All my stories here can be viewed free not because I have to, but because I would actually like to improve and receive advise and criticism. It is discouraging to write, see that my stories have been viewed, and find no reviews to read over. Unfortunately none of my friends or family are particularly interested in reading my work here at home, and so is why I chose to join Fiction Press. If not for the fact that I enjoy writing and like to think I have stories to tell I would have stopped posting a long while ago. The skimmer generation is a tragic one and a time of deteriorating culture and romantic interpretations of the world. To me books are a depiction of society as it was, is and even could be, and if the works I see getting people’s attention (Gossip, sexually themed, graphic, quick reads, summaries) are any consolation, I fear a very frightening world. You may also find my work (in collaboration with a group of others) here: http:/// My food blog is at: http:/// THE HOUSE OF BLACK AND WHITE CATS: Newest work of psychological fiction. Sam is a boy or uncertain pasts. One day in his frustrations at home he flees to an old house, who's occupants are all presumed to be many, odd, black and white cats. Though, like the experiment of Schrödinger's cat it isn't until this box is opened that one could truly know for sure. THE WEIRD FISHES: 'The Weird Fishes' is a dystopian novelette taking place in an exaggerated version of the present day approximately fifty years into the future. Technology has ceased it’s progression along with society as a whole which has slowly digressed into a dog-eat-dog world. The big fish eat the little ones, though perhaps not as anyone expect. The greatest have become the least, and the least the greatest as the American society has turned to necessity instead of luxury and curiosity has perished in the smoke and dust of people's dwindling interests. MONARCH: Story stopped until further notice. On a ship now hurtling into deep space without a Captain at it's head, Lieutenant Klemin must escape the star-crossed star-craft, the only problem that obstructs his resolve is that he is the murderer of Captain Long, and soon to be the rest of his crew. AN UNFORTUNATE EXCHANGE: In a dystopian society based upon mass wellness and individual indifference, those labeled counter-productive to the governing bodies' agendas are forced into other means of benefitting the masses, either by becoming a new age donor or sacrificing personal health to the sickly. Ben-Ben is discovered after a mass weapon testing due to the death of his room mate, Guy. Without Guy filling in for him at school Ben-Ben is exposed as the lazy, rebellious teenager that he is, and sentenced to a very unfortunate exchange. (COMPLETE) RUBO GALANE: My newest work in Fantasy/Sci-fi. Rubo Galane is a forest entity of simple pleasures, existing as a taxidermist up until recently. If not for Muse, the Lady of Virtuosity he could have continued on as he was for all of eternity. Now bodiless at the hands of an inter-dimensional samurai, Rubo seeks revenge for his be-heading, unaware of his distant watcher and the intricacies of the events leading up to the loss of his body. Pertains to the themes of Fate v. Free will, old works such as ‘The Green Knight’, and some poetic elements. |
