It’s been forever since I updated this, so let’s give it a go.

After dabbling in anime all my life, in the recent year I picked it up as an obsession. I blame the Vision of Escaflowne, the first series I was compelled to collect and watch repeatedly on DVD. Then I bought the soundtracks. Then I started hunting down art books. Then I set up a website dedicated to Allen Schezar, my favorite character not just from that series, but all of anime. It’s called Beautiful *ed Up Man. Feel free to click on the website address listed and visit. Other favorites include Trigun and of course, Eva. Escaflowne’s been the only one so far that I’ve written any stories for and will probably remain so.

I’ve been an RPG nut since I played the original Phantasy Star but since Sega’s only given us online crap since, what? 1996?, I’ve moved on to Final Fantasy as my series of choice. VII is my favorite, if only because of Sephiroth (and Vincent, and Reno, sometimes Cloud). X and Auron come next, followed by VIII and Laguna (yeah, I loved VIII. Sue me.) Sorry, old schoolers. I like but not love IV, VI and IX and I thought V was atrocious. I used to be into the Resident Evil series, but again, lack of new content has cut my interest significantly.

I read great gobs of books, generally snooty modern literature stuff. Favorite authors include Jonathan Franzen (a.k.a. He Who Dissed Oprah), Michael Chabon, Margaret Atwood and the greatest satirist of our time, Terry Pratchett. Anyone who has read my FF VII stories will be able to detect his influence. If I only had one book to read, it would be Pratchett’s ‘Small Gods’.

Current projects include wrapping up ‘The Secret Life of a Girl’ and then editing it. Yes, there will be a sequel and I’d like to do a series of related one-shots as well. I’ve got a few more FF VII humor stories rambling around in my head (as much as I love this game, I can’t seem to do a serious piece for it) and I really, really do intend to one day, get back to ‘The Exchange’. ‘The Woman Who Wasn’t There’ is on hold until I get reinspired. I can tell you right now a remake of a game I’ve already played fifty times and a game starring Rebecca ain’t gonna do it. It will be finished someday though.
