A short poem of sorts. An emotive insight into the smallest things that sometimes break the toughest of people. The further lament of a young healthcare worker just trying to do his job and get by. A sad true story, but I needed to write.

It is his job; what he does. He takes pain away and sees all that remains once the dead are gone. The ultimate misfortune befalls a young mother and he answers her call for help. Live or die, is it just as important what he does or spares her from having to do? A dark, morbid in places, but slightly romantic oneshot based on the experience of a young paramedic finding his way.
