Welcome, welcome. It's Req here. Or if you want, Canzone di Notte, the Italian version of my name. (Before you ask, yes, I love making everything into different languages, especially Italian. Haha.) Or you can even use one of my real life nicknames: Gab, Gabs, Gabe, Gabes, Gabby, Gabbers, Gabsielles... I've heard them all, and nothing surprises me anymore. So, get creative! I'd love to find a new nickname to add to the list.

Yes, part Italian. And part Chinese. And the rest is vague...

Hm, there's not too much to me. Definitely an avid writer and reader... I love a good videogame every once in a while, but I've pushed it aside quite a bit so I could continue writing. High school sucks up way too much time. I spend every bit of time I can between friends and school just writing. I love those moments when your mind wanders and you almost forget where you are... Hehe, fun. My favorite thing is when you're writing and your character does something you didn't even think of, something you didn't even know was an option. They almost take on a mind of their own, and that's when you know your character's become something more. Not just someone on paper, but a real person.

Quotes:

Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world.

I'm not afraid of Death. What's he going to do, kill me?

Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Speaking in front of a crowd is the number one fear for an average person. Number two is death. That means if you have to be at a funeral, you'd rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.

Parents spend the first part of our lives teaching us to walk and talk, and the rest of it telling us to sit down and shut up.

Everyone has the right to be ugly, but you abused the privilege.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Don't make someone a priority when they make you an option.

The guy may wear the pants in this relationship, but I control the zipper.

Stand up for something, or you'll fall for anything.

If you love two people at the same time, pick the second one. If you truly loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen for the second one.

I'm on a very tight schedule of not getting anything done.

Love is a forest. It doesn't matter if you've taken the longer route or the messier path. As long as you reach the destination at the end.

(Now, on to something a little more serious.)

Did you know...

that a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds?

that five children die daily because of child abuse?

that 80% of children who die of child abuse are under the age of four?

that 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder?

that about 68% of people don't even think child abuse is possible?

Child abuse is a real, devastating problem. It's not just violence. It can be sexual and emotional. It can be something that a child carries with them through life and possibly continues to do to their own children. It's something that I want to see be eliminated for good. Every child deserves a safe home, and I don't believe any person should suffer through something this awful. If you feel as strongly about this as I do, read A Place to Call Home, my first child abuse oneshot. I plan to write more about child abuse and hopefully raise awareness.

Thanks for visiting, and check out my stories if you'd like.
