![]() Author has written 3 stories for Historical, Humor, and General. I'm a young lady from England. My most favouritest things in the world go as follows - 1. Her Majesty The Queen (naturally) 2. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (naturally) 4. Harry Potter (obviously) 5. FanFiction!!! (how could I not?) 6. Anybody who writes Anything!!! (you guys are like air to me * adoring sigh * ) 7. All of my friends!!! (mostly covered in no.6 * reprise of adoring sighs * ) 78094236162384576792819475584319234538432685. Twilight 78094236162384576792819475584319234538432686. Twi - hards. No offence intended to them as people, just all their comments about how amazing and brave all their precious fictional characters are. I can create a character who can save the world, be humble and gracious, kind and loving, and shoot rainbows from their nose! This is not the point of story writing! I think people read stories to immerse themselves in the world the author has created. This is okay, but not to the point that these people read about Bella because they are so dissatisfied with their own lives that they wish they were these characters that are infinitely pretty and have vampires and werewolves fighting over them. The beauty of a story lies not in the strength or heroic actions of the characters, but the detail and history in their lives and their world that create something of real interest for the reader, not just a way to feel better about themselves. Not to say Twilight is badly written, quite the opposite in fact! Meyer clearly has talent, but I wish she would utilise it writing something other than Bella making toast. Or having a shower. Or cooking for her dad. Or ardently moping for twenty-eight paragraphs. Sorry to rant. I can't help myself. LONG LIVE J.K! XD |
